Actually my favorite version is that by Florence Black. The singer’s voice makes it edgier and the riffs are a bit less mechanical. Even if I am a Metallica and Budgie fan.

His voice has changed so much since they recorded this song in 1989. His whole vocal style seems very different. I prefer the 80's James voice way better

@@dathorndike4908 Yeah well. Bruce Dickinson's voice doesn't sound the same either. When you do this stuff for decades, some wear and tear and changes are to be expected. James has done a good job of adapting tho, detuning the guitars as needed, and singing with less grit sometimes, because otherwise his voice would give out after 8 songs.

I know you made this comment seven years ago but to answer your question bands don't get royalties from bands covering their songs live. They get royalties if the cover is on an album though.

I watched and listened to it numerous times last week thinking it would be gone, such a phenomenal show and so glad I can re-watch as much as I want. I am SO in full Metallica mode. Been listening to the cds over and over in my car and on the iphone and when I am at work I'm fn jamming it here on KZbin. I've been a fan since 85 and I feel like a teen again listening to Hardwired. I haven't been this excited about ANY music in a ling time.
