observations: - Lars has fun when he gets to hit drums like in a music video (where water is artificially added for effect) - Kirk has fun when he gets to improvise a solo into a song where one never existed. - James has fun when he gets to just spit out lyrics in whatever order he feels like because he can never remember them - Rob just has fun

@@felipegomez7302 And a good songwriter when it comes to arranging drums for a track. I saw a video here on youtube of Joy Jordison and Dave Lombardo filling in for Lars some years ago. Becaus he had to go to the hospital or something. And sounded pretty crappy compare to the original. They played on tempo and everything like that. But it was much more generic and was really lacking the feel. It was Sandman (Joy Jordison) the worst version I have heard of it and Battery (Dave Lombardo) at least beter then Jordison. - So you see. Lars is needed for the drums in Metallica. Especially on the first 4 albums. So much more then just a fun guy.

Exactly. There are some great songs. Frantic, St. Anger, all within my hands, unnamed feeling, purify. I remember at first listen I was bummed because of the crappy production and turned of snare drum but I used to just blast that album every day after work. It when played at maximum volume is a crusher. I remember jus starting my job back in may of 03 and im still there same time as the release of St. Anger. I remember getting off from work and at the time I had no car so I ran to the record store to get the album. I ran back home and popped it in and rocked out to it. My friend got tripped out from the production and had to leave because he got 😨. 😆 he then called me when he got home and said uh... How's that st anger? I told him, it's heavy man! I love it but you just have to listen to it really loud on a high end stereo. Now fast forward to 2019 I own two cars and a house and a even better stereo and st anger still fuckin shreds. To all those who dislike it. Go back and listen to it again or maybe it's not for you. Which is fine.
