Midori and Asami are so adorable! 🥰 It was cute how Midori was explaining the tour name: "thin line between love and hate". From what I have seen so far... no hate, only lots of LOVE for them! ☺ At the end, Asami said she wants to tour with Judas Priest and maybe sing "Painkiller" on stage with them! That would be AMAZING. 😍

I have been a fan of Lovebites for several years. I realized a long time ago that when I reach for their music, in an overwhelming number of cases I open KZbin and watch concert material. This is a great concert band that multiplies the power of its music when it plays live. That's what I felt while watching KZbin. A few days ago I did something I promised myself - I took the chance and saw the girls on stage in real life. It was a small venue in Milan. The fact that the club was small was an advantage. The atmosphere was as if I was moved to the early 80s and watching Iron Maiden in some small club. There was so much freshness, sincere emotions, enthusiasm, joy in playing and receiving music. Priceless. Without a doubt one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The small club (Legend club) worked well, but these girls' place is on the biggest stages, stadiums and concert halls. They really deserve it.

It was an amazing experience to be so close to these talented and beautiful musicians. So happy that they are winning converts during the tour and looking forward to seeing them in London again for the penultimate concert of the tour.

In September of last year, I traveled from Budapest to Osaka to see them. I was also in Milan last week. I agree with you, I also think the concert was very, very good. There was much more energy on stage than in front of the Japanese audience, where there were chairs in the auditorium. I hope they come to my country one day. Greetings from Hungary.

So happy you gave them a chance, and watched them in their right element. Though I like their studio material, I feel, just like Rush, it's on the stage they really shines. One of the fiercest double leads in the business in Miyako and Midori, very accurate harmonies that gives association to Tipton/Downing and Murray/Smith. Just with some more "flair". When the original bassist (Miho) left because of personal reasons, most fans feared she would be hard to replace. Fami stepped in, and many realised she was a known KZbinr and went in seamlessly though she is +10 years younger than the rest of the girls. Probably the happiest bassist I've seen in a while. Haruna... one of many extremely talented female drummers in Japan. Keeps pace with most males. Asami.. Great singer. And by some called a female Bruce Dickinson!

@@metallove1 well they got 2 songs written for British heavy-metal exclusively."golden destination" was written about old school British metal in general and "the crusade" was a homage to Iron Maiden.Miho was the huge maiden fan in the group and effectively she started it, so I'm not sure that the other girls are so inclined. The pilgrim was a bit cringe in this interview, just because he's a major Iron Maiden fan.He should of asked them why they called it "the thin line between love and hate", not asked a embarrassing leading question. They are of this generation, which means that most of their influences are going to be from 2000-2010, when they were teenagers growing up, not from the 80s

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows. ①Heavy metal (basic policy) ②All English lyrics (strategy for global expansion) ③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.) ④High heels (to compensate for short height) The white costumes can be dyed in various colors by colored lighting. They wear white outfits and are lit up with colored lights that reflect the themes and genres of their lyrics. The white outfits have an advantage because LOVEBITES' songs incorporate different metal genres and there are many different aspects to their lyrics and music. Miho also thought about the visual on stage. Asami will modify stage lighting effects etc. on-site. For white costumes, each person requests their preferences and ideas from the costume staff. Thank you for your continued support of LOVEBITES.

Point no. 2 is what holding back many World Class & Creative Japanese Bands from conquering the world. Lovebites is making a smart move. Loudness in the past did better because they have more English songs than for example, X Japan (and many other J bands) that I believe can be better or at least on par at the global stage. (Loudness is coming to my country in a few months time). Sad also that great & magnificent bands that I adore like Galneryus, Unlucky Morpheus etc., will have little exposure outside Japan. (touring, concert) Going off-topic a bit - One small aspect of the Japanese music (rock/metal) that I like in their songwriting is their appreciation for solo. Not just guitar solo, but any instrument solo! They have bass, keyboard, violin, piano & even shamisen solo (i.e. Wagakkiband). And many have twin or solo duel or harmonized solo! And Lovebites have a lot of these!!! 🤟🤟🤟

I believe Midori's English is better than Asami's which is probably why she fielded most of the questions.

I was actually surprised how good it is. It seems her main struggle is that sometimes the right word doesn't come to mind because of not enough practice. I feel like after a few months in an English speaking environment she could be amazing.

Asami speaks better English.... but her knowledge about the metal scene is very little. That's the main reason why Midori was the main interviewee.

@@pablomg9742 Midori's replies were spontaneous. I think most of the time when Asami speaks in English she is using rehearsed lines that she memorizes ahead of time. That's the impression I get from all the times I've heard Asami talk, but I could be wrong.

One of the best metal bands out there at the moment, and I say that as someone who likes but doesn't love power metal and thrash metal in general. As ever with the top bands, the musicianship's great but it's the songwriting that sets them apart. In particular Miyako Watanabe with her classical background. And they're the tip of the iceberg for the Japanese scene. Among (pretty-much) pure metal bands they're my favourite, but there are a lot of great bands who blend metal with other genres.

Long live Ukraine 🇺🇦🙏 Two songs of them that always make me think of Ukraine are Swan Song and Soldier Stands Solitarily. Lovebites is a band whose common themes are of valor, courage, love for your brothers and sisters, remembrance for the ones we lost and determination to keep standing for what's right. Their songs fit the current situation in Ukraine like a glove🤘🐺🤘

Chopin's Revolutionary etude is quoted in the SwanSong solo. This etude was written for his homeland that was invaded by the Russian Empire. We support Ukraine from Japan.

There is a clear guitar hero about such music, it is Richie Blackmore! His culture and spirit is present in Lovebites' music as well. (Check "Burn" by Deep Purple)

He is one of Miyako's influences. Her mother listened to that stuff. Deep Purple and Rainbow.
