Doubt :- Why metals have low Ionisation energy?
@aamer236
@aamer236 3 жыл бұрын
metals have a bigger atomic structure when compared to non-metals, so the centripetal force applied by the nucleus of the atom is not reachable till the electrons in the valence shell, so the electrons get out of the orbit and become free. hence less energy is required.

Metals have low ionisation energy because metal have ability to loss electrons and ionisation enery required to remove electrons but metals have also tendency to remove electrons for stability (electropositive). because of that metal have low ionisation energy.

@subashnayak7027
@subashnayak7027 2 жыл бұрын
Calcium reacts with water to form Calcium Hydroxide then they do not react vigorously , they react slowly than Sodium and Potassium and in this process Hydrogen gas is released . The Hydrogen gas is very light gas so it moves upward and takes away the small small pieces of Calcium along with it that's why it stick to the surface of the water Calcium particles

@1000subs0video
@1000subs0video 2 жыл бұрын
Let me help you, Actually, the fact is that Mg can react with steam as well as warm water. 1. When it reacts with steam it forms Magnesium oxide and hydrogen gas Mg + H2O (steam) = MgO + H2 2. When it reacts with warm water it forms Magnesium hydroxide and hydrogen gas Mg + 2 H2O = Mg(OH)2 + H2 Mild and Highly reactive metals can react with steam and warm water as well as cold water. but less reactive metals can only react with steam.
