I picked it up for £0.85p in the e-shop sale, maybe with using some of my gold points as well. For that price it was very much worth it. It is a bit confusing in places, but I really liked the parkour element. You stick to the environment in a way that makes it feel good to move around. The level design is pretty unique, and it was the first fps game that I've played on the switch, so its a nice introduction to this type of control without requiring any fast response. I would definitely recommend picking it up for a casual playthrough when you see it in the sale. It is not a £22 game though, which is what the price is again now. I'm new to switch though, so I'm not actually sure if anyone actually pays the full prices, or if they are just there to make the regular sales look like deep discounts.

Have the performance and/or visuals improved with all the updates that have released? I can't find any info on it so I have to ask around to find out before buying.

@@mikeexits I'm not super aware of the evolution of this, but I was saying to my friend that I didn't realise this was a 30fps game until after I had finished it and was looking at reviews, so as of 2024 I only saw a couple of tiny fps drops at the big scene reveal viewpoints.

Josef is the character from Kafka's the Trial. Other characters are also adaptations of Kafka's characters (Titorelli, Leni, for example). Also Josef's story is based on the Trial, and in general, this game adapts Kafka's work as a whole, like it tries to adapt Kafka's essence, his ideas, and not one novel. Anyway, good work on the review mate, keep it up

Hey Greyfox thank you for this! knowledge I did not have right there! So the story is melding his characters together! The game gave me no clue to this, I guess there’s more in here for fans than I expected! If your a fan of all his works you should probably skip my story breakdown in that case lol cause I interpreted the story to the book I know and that’s about it!

It’s been a long time since I’ve read it! Seems that some of the characters that I didn’t recognize are from his other novels and it’s more a combination than set in just metamorphosis. Doesn’t really change anything cause it’s not exactly deep stuff but still interesting to know...makes me want to read through his other reviews!

@11:28 what was that bell icon that was on the screen? Maybe it was explained near the start but it seemed to be there for most of the play through for me and I never figured out what it was trying to tell me.

I downloaded this title several months ago, but only started playing it yesterday, and I have just completed it about 10 minutes ago. I definitely had to close out at least 3 times yesterday due to freeze up, after which the audio started to sound incredibly glitchy. I also noticed a LOT of buggy (no pun intended) dialog loops. I saw some footage of what must have been either the PC version or that of another system, and it looked incredible compared to the Switch version. Definitely made me feel ripped off in the graphics department. I would've liked to see the dev team lean into more of the optical illusions and absurdist/abstract concepts a bit more, but over-all, I really did enjoy the game and reccomend it to anyone that is searching for something a bit unusual.

There’s a minor patch for some white screen issues but I actually never got one in my play through honestly

@@SwitchCorner it's my biggest bugbear (excuse the pun) with Switch ports. If it can run on other consoles with less glitches then it should run as well on switch. Not like we havnt had great ports in the form of bioshock and crysis. The console can do Alot more than some Devs give it credit for.

I can handle graphics, I get it and it doesn’t bother its all the other things that get to me....do you how many times I had to stop myself from saying bugs and there’s about 10 minutes of outtakes from recording this video for that reason!

Dishonored is great and I think it’s only a matter of time until we get it on switch. I’m really sad that we won’t be getting death loop. Almost considering buying a PlayStation five but I’m sure I won’t have any time to play it. I might have to cheat a little bit and catch up with Doom Eternal and Resident Evil 3 and whatever comes out. It’s time for a new Nintendo console.

Thanks for the warning. Metamorphosis = € 22,49(€ 24,99), 4GB; no physical. You run around rooms as a bug. Areas are blurry and view is blocked and you get stuck all the time. Trash.

I'm pretty sure Kafka did not invent the word 'metamorphosis'. Even if he did, its modern use has nothing to do with a human transforming into an insect. It refers to the process by which certain animals transform into their adult forms. E.g. larvae becoming bees, caterpillars becoming butterflies, or tadpoles becoming frogs. Kafka doesn't own the word. They're allowed to use it as their game title without referencing Kafka at all.

I think it’s open to interpretation! I know there were some studies that were saying 2 - 3 ft which yes, is still bigger than this!

@@SwitchCorner - Still, this reminds me too much of Mister Mosquito on the PS2 or Deadly Creatures on the Wii...I'd have liked something a bit more similar to the source material, or if adapted then at least a gradual metamorphosis from a man into a tiny bug progressing from game day to game day or level to level. Otherwise an adaptation of the classic Vincent Price film The Fly, or the short story that it's based on would've been pretty interesting (alternating between Fly-man and Man-fly).
