Fun fact: Those lyrics are in Esperanto. Which is a made up language that someone tried to popularize in the late 1800's. and the UN tried to pick it up a bit in the 1950's. Many people will only know it as "the language of that werewolf in Danny Phantom", where it is mostly played for laugh because there is no way you are getting a translator for that. Its main feature is that it is quick and easy to learn since it has a tiny vocabular- instead, it relies on a lot of add ons- similar to big, bigger, biggest. And yes, Metaphor is officially in the "popculture references" section of the wiki article on esperanto.

Usually, things like this start off with just basic codes and turns of phrase within a group. It is born out of use and practice. It originates from the end users. It is born out of local jargon that grows and evolves into a full system. In this case, someone started off trying to make a full system, and then published it with the intent of finding end users. That helped define some of its features- he gave it simple grammar rules and small vocabulary so it is easy to learn.
