Metcal Fume Extractor (BVX-201 and BVX-203)

I have a BVX-200 and it looks just like this unit. It was working but now it is beeping when I power it on with the remote switch, and the fan motor does not turn on. I have not been able to find anything online or in the manual that says it can and will beep when something goes wrong. Can you help? Why is it beeping and no longer powering the motor?

Is it because the filters need replacing?
