The Star Fox 64 Restored OST is one of the many results following the "Gigaleaks of Nintendo" from July 24th and 25th, 2020. Found in the files of the game were not only all of the uncompressed voice lines, but also uncompressed instrument samples for the music, as well as the MIDI sequences used in the game to perform the music. Using the instrument samples and MIDI sequences, I was able to recreate the entire soundtrack to Star Fox 64 in the highest quality we have ever heard.

The fake-cello sound that’s used for the bass line has always been one of my favorite N64 instruments. DK64 uses it to great effect in Hideout Helm, too.

you have to give credit for what they were trying to do at that time with this soundtrack. Even though is all midi, compare to other stuff at the time, they actually manage to give the feel of being an heroic orquestra for the Ost
