The customizable fuel slider definitely made Meteor one of the best fighters in war thunder. Remember the days you are forced to choose from min fuel of 6min or 20min?

The Meteor has always been one of my favorite planes to fly in the game, and it was actually my very favorite until the Tornado ADV, so i'm REALLY happy to see you spread how good it is. HOWEVER I couldn't help but notice that this is the third time you say bad things about an objectively visually magnificent british aircraft (yes i still remember what you said about tornadoes and the Bucc) and because of that i will have to airstrike your house. Great reviews btw keep it up you're the best WT CC out there

My favorite meteor of the bunch is the Sea Meteor, it handles basically exactly like the mk3 but BETTER

Love the Meteors since I was a kid, seeing them in my Stephen Biesty's Cross-Section Jets book. For 7.3 tho, if you want better, you'll want the Sea Meteor with its much more powerful Derwent 5 engines foldered under this one in the tech-tree.

@squeesher I actually prefer the regular mk3 over the sea meteor in many scenarios. The loss of top speed and acceleration is offset by the wings not ripping with the slightest touch and a lower perceived weight.

The frame and how it rips is exactly the same as mk3 in sea meteor, you just have to remember you have a lot stronger engines. Not to mention with recent changes to how wing rip works it's really no issue anymore.

My only gripe with the Meteor mk 3 is you get the sea meteor at the same br. You get the better engines (almost twice the thrust) of the later meteors with the same air frame

What do you mean? The mk3 is far better as it fits the turn fighter niche without competition. The other variants may be faster and accelerate better but are also worse dogfighters

@HighRiskV The sea meteor turns just as well, since it's using the same wing and fuselage. And unlike the normal mk3 it can actually keep a bit more speed during a sustained turn due to the better engines. So you have better energy retention. And again it's the same br, so there's no point in using mk 3 over sea meteor

@@carlover-or4cq its the other way around, the sea meteor is A LOT heavier and the extra power doesn't offset the weight. In a dogfight there is no other jet that is able to match it's sustained turn rate, only the rocket planes on low fuel but those aren't jets. I can duel you if you want.

This is my favorite early jet, one of the few planes where I don't care about uptiers at all. This thing even out-turns every prop it faces.

My first meteor was the big snout night fighter in the israeli tech tree, and it very quickly became my favourite early jet. It could do it all, BnZ, turnfighting and even head ons because of how explosively powerful the Hispanos are. It took me very few matces to spade it.

The Meteors are some of my favourite early jets! They're great all-rounders, and if you can get past the the odd engine arrangement, their lines are actually pretty slick! For reference, I've been grinding the French tree with the Belgian Meteor and while watching this had a dogfight (solo) vs 4x Mig-15bis(es?) and only lost after 2 of them had been shot down or crashed and then I ran out of fuel and ammo... And they're all higher BR planes and the Meteor could hold its own.

The first meteor I really struggled with. The engines are just so underpowered I mostly gave up. The later meteors, however (not counting sea meteor, never tried it), are just so much better. 50% extra thrust is absolutely amazing, and the last meteor has amazing turning ability compared to basically all other jets you meet.

No, don't bother. You can test drive the sea harrier, feels about the same. The AV8B+ though, is great! The different wing design makes it turn far better with much better energy retention. The GR.7 is similar but lighter, can pull 17G's

@@Burtman378 you will have an hard time adjusting to the guns since there are no tracers, but they pack a punch and are very high velocity. 4x aim-9m work great at 12.3

I love the Meteor's looks, that's about my only point of contention. Lol They're all great to fly. Not the best at any one thing but such a well balanced and easy flight model. I found the central nose mounted guns much easier to use coming from widely spaced hispanos on the spits. No worries about gun convergence at all.

Well... the mk3 (not the sea version) is the best at one of the things among all jets, turning! All the other versions have worse turn rate but handle better at high speed

I would advise maybe, to skip that meteor and go for sea version +0.3 br for around 50% thrust increase sounds very nice

@HighRiskV how is it the best? What advantages does it have against sea version? 0.3 br is nothing, eingines are lot more powerful It literally breaks wings in level flight, you have to not use full throttle before getting some of upgrades

@@Вольфрамище the mk3 will easily beat the sea meteor or any other meteor in a dogfight and sits at 7.3. The only downsides is compression at high speed. When I started the meteor line I just skipped every meteor except the mk3 because its such a beast while the others trade turn performance for speed/acceleration and higher BR where they start lacking the edge in dogfights

You NEED to caveat all this with the fact that you're playing arcade. The early Meteors are absolute dogs in RB.

The video was all RB. Whenever he shows, or discusses, arcade battles there is always on-screen text identifying it or a really explicit disclaimer that something only applies in arcade.
