Our relationship with science in this country... man... I'd be happy if one person can give me an accurate representation of what science is, in a single sentence.

Observation ànd recording of data over long periods to determine facts. Then using reason to determine logic based conclusions. Through ice core samples we can see that as green house gasses rise and fall the temperature always follows. This is a fact. It takes roughly 150 Years for the temperature line to catch up or down with the greenhouse gad line. It has done this for the 300,000 Years we can look back. I. The last 150 years we have added 50% more gasses to the atmosphere than what is normal. Machinery puts out 1000xs more co2 every year than every volcanoe on earth combined. In the last 50 Years the chart line representing the greenhouse gasses put in the atmosphere by fossil fuels has gone straight up.. faster in 100 Years than any 10 000 year period under natural conditions. Logic dictates that the temp will follow like ot has always done through earths history. I and the temp line is just now starting to catch up. A million hours of observation and analysis of the data is conclusive. Man made emissions are causing climate change at a rate never known in the history of the world.

Would it be more accurate to discribe science as the art of discovering the truths around us by using evidence, either observational or experimental, to *DISPROVE* other people's (and often our own) assumptions and misunderstandings of our world, society and even ourselves. Science is a club of people saying, THIS THING IS REAL, PROVE ME WRONG... and yet the peer review process is ignored when we talk about it... it's not science unless we're seeking new understandings, and it's not scientific until other people who don't want you to be right, fail to disprove your assumptions and observations.

A hundred years ago scientists thought the earth was 100m years old. Today they think it is 4.8B years old. A hundred years from now they might have a completely different figure. A lot of what scientists say at any given time is just educated guesswork built on conjecture built on assumptions. The climate fear industry exploits the public's ignorance by telling them that if "science" says it then they are infallible. Anyone old enough will remember back in the 1950s that scientists and doctors swore that smoking was perfectly healthy, in studies funded by tobacco companies. Today, scientists paid by left-leaning institutions just happen to draw conclusions that support the ideology of those left-leaning instructions. If you and others want to be sheep that's your prerogative. You are simply doing exactly what you accuse others of, that is believing interpretations that are conjectural just because it's what you want to believe.

Hey Chris...I don't think you have a clue what "Real PTSD" is... "Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event - either experiencing it or witnessing it." Pray for those who lived it, and succumbed to it... "What does 22 veterans a day mean? A single number has shaped the way that Americans think about young military veterans. It's the number 22, as in, 22 vets take their lives each day. The number has become a rallying cry for advocates trying to call attention to suicide among vets, especially those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan."

@Thor.Jorgensen
@Thor.Jorgensen Жыл бұрын
@@huelerhuelin3334 No kidding. It comes from ancient carbon. Bones, especially fossilized bones do not contain carbon. They are almost pure calcium. Oil comes from dead plant life, mainly trees, that became trapped underwater or otherwise underground, millions of years ago. Before any of these trees were on this planet, before any of the carbon was settled on the earth's surface, the surface of the earth was uninhabitable, not only to animals but also to most plants. The plants that could survive such conditions, that emerged from deep underwater have since gone extinct.

Like geology, volcanology, paleontology, planet, science, physics, astrophysics biology, oceanography. Just to name a few…. Meteorologists aren’t even remotely close to a scientist.
