Yessss! I've been on a mission to play more games with my Music classes this year (a new game every 1-2 weeks), and Meter Tag was perfect to add to my lessons to reinforce 2/4 and 4/4 time this week! THANK YOU!!!

We've been playing Meter Tag for 2 years now. It's a great quick movement break! I always play everyone is it; that it is a silent game- anyone who argues is out; 'out' students have to sit where they were tagged out (creating obstacles for remaining players. Note- they start to silently team up- which is creative- I have only had to shut that down in one class as it isn't done in the kindness.) NEW TWIST: This week I thought, what if I stop playing my drum & clicks leaving them to move on their own to the strong beat? A student said- we can call it GHOST BEAT! You bet that's going to be the name!!- we had to play around with adding GHOST BEATs! -which also silenced the couple talkers lol! We are going to play around with this idea of Ghost Beat & the kids are stoked to help creative a new spin on this game after Spring Break!! One idea: Players have to step in place and not travel through space- the only person who can move is the person who was pre-chosen as the Ghost before the game started! Then when I play my drum, all play resumes with those still in the game!

I have let them work with a partner for the tennis ball activity. They stand facing each other and will do bounce catch back and forth, or bounce catch switch and each bounce is bouncing it to their partner. if htey get really good they can add a second ball, That gets chaotic but fun

Loved these ideas so much I purchased your tpt meter unit. I just wondered where to find the game boards and answer keys for bar lines battle game? Thanks

Thanks! I am looking for the playlists in the different meters. It says in the video that they are linked below but I am not seeing them. That would be super helpful to me. I am the art teacher at our school and I am teaching music this year too. It is going okay but would love those playlists so that I can demonstrate different meters to kids easily. Your website and videos have been very helpful to me in starting the year. I have used a lot of your activities!

I played the meter game in my class today with 4th and 5th and it was a big hit! Thanks for the ideas. Does anyone have a playlist of songs in meters in 2, 3, and 4 already made they can share?? 🙂
