Aloe Vera with tea tree oil and peppermint oil sprayed on ur scalp daily helps A LOT. Also....put ur hair in like 6-10 braids with rubber bands on the ends...wash ur hair in the braids. Then let ur hair air dry completely...and once dry, retwist the perimeter. If i keep mine in 4-6 weeks i def have to wash it. I just started doing “loose twists” and they take half the time to install so i only leave in 2-3 weeks...u may wanna try those!

I was using rosehip oil but I stopped doing that for the third week because I didn't want build up on top of my psoriasis. It's not bad after I use the water and qtip method. These are mini twists in my opinion I just don't think that I will ever wash them while doing them every month. I tried loose twists they do take less time but they don't last long for me. I have to end up redoing them to often. I thank you so much for the suggestions. I look forward to my hair growing longer. It seems like you had a really good experience with them.

@@MeTheseCurls I use rosehip oil on my face bc it speeds up cell turnover to help even out skintone...and I know on my face it helped QUICKLY. the rose hip oil may be been bothering your scalp...maybe im wrong...but knowing what it does to my face i can see how it could cause dander.
@MeTheseCurls4 жыл бұрын
@@mrod87 It doesn’t bother my scalp. It feels good and soothes it. It’s me. I have to watch what I eat to not have a bad flare up of my psoriasis which causes the burning and itching . I use it on my face too and you’re right about what it does to the skin.

Try mixing apple cider vinegar on ur scalp, I promise you it will work, I struggled with and inflammation on my scalp where it would burn, it was read and it would itch. Leave it on 15/30 minutes and rinse out. I hope this helps

I've done apple cider rinses in the past. It does give me relief. I didn't think about doing it with mini twists because I didn't want my twists to tangle. I think that I will try it the next time I put them in. It might not tangle my hair. Thank you for the suggestion.

@@MeTheseCurls i currently have been wearing mini twist about 3 months now, I wash my hair in the twist as well and redo them. ur hair type looks similar to mine thats why I commented, I use acv to wash my scalp about every 3 week, but to upkeep my scalp I use lavender essential oil every other day bc it also has properties that keeps dandruff/fungus/inflammation away. I woke up one night in tears bc my scalp was so itchy and inflamed and doing these two things has completely cured me. Using it regularly, I have eczema on my scalp as well which is different, i would get flakes the size of a dime at times, but I hope you find something that works for you. I enjoyed watching ur videos 📹 😁

@@Slave2kingkong 3 months?! That’s awesome 👏🏾. I can’t wait to keep mine in for that long. I’ll probably redo them at the end of this month. I will try the lavender next time to see if that will work as well. Yeah, having a itchy scalp is horrible !!!! I really hope that your suggestions help me as well. I’m glad that you enjoy my videos. Thank you so much for watching 🙂

I started back using my t gel shampoo and watching what I eat. It’s not a simple fix for me because I’ve suffered from this since I was a little girl. I’m learning that what you eat plays a huge roll with psoriasis flare up’s. Thank you for the suggestion.

Do you know what the signs of psoriasis are?
@MeTheseCurls4 жыл бұрын
Yes. Silvery white scales on the scalp. Itches and burns. I actually have psoriasis on my scalp and body. My mother took me to a dermatologist and that was my diagnosis. I've had it since I was a child.

I have mini twist also my own is in less than a week but it looks like it's in for 2 months 😭😭very frizzy
@MeTheseCurls4 жыл бұрын
Does this happen every time you do them? If so embrace your frizz☺. Especially if you are trying to grow it out. I think mini twists look better with some frizz because it adds volume.

You really just gave me confidence within.😊 I had a recent c-spine fusion surgery in August,and my motor skills are coming back slowly but surely.The back of my hair was pulled out BAD from neglect in the hospital;the nurses put patches up too high on my incision, and would just rip it off. 😢 So NOW, my twists don't look full anymore, and idk how to train the back.I didn't know about the witch hazel for your scalp.Is there limitations on amount or frequency, because my scalp gets like..🤯and here comes what I call the poofiness,lol.I DID somewhat cowash with them in before, lol because I needed relief BAD..I just freshen em up whenever I can't tolerate the poofy.🤦🏽♀️ suggestions??💁🏽♀️
@MeTheseCurls4 жыл бұрын
Hello🤗. I’m sorry that I didn’t reply sooner but I didn’t see your comment because it was under someone else’s comment. I’m glad that you’re recovering and doing well. Yes you can use witch hazel for your scalp and skin just test it on your hand first to see if your skin likes it. So you don’t like poofy? Maybe you can put them in two braids and take it a loose whenever you want to wear them out. Or you can pin them down at night so they don’t poof up as much. Overtime twists naturally swell up and get bigger due to the moisture in the air. So that can’t be prevented. I hope that this helps ♥️
