Feel free to comment with your own fun facts of Methley, or correct any of mine if they are wrong, thank you. The area of Methley around Newmarket Lane is still a part of Leeds but comes under Wakefield council for bin collections etc, I believe they use the lines of the M62 as the border, throughout the village of Methley I believe a Castleford 01977 telephone is used rather than the Leeds 0113 code, this is definitely the case of many residents on watergate and Newmarket lane,
