Methyl Ethel - Trip the Mains

Jake, I gotta tell you something and it’s been brewing for a while now. Since I found Trip the Mains on a playlist Luke Steele made - it was the end of July in 2019, I had just gotten married to the wrong person in my life and a relative of mine had died in February of that year. I felt like I was living my life sleepwalking. Trip the Mains was the first song on that playlist and I listened to it for a whole month I think. It felt like a song that woke me up from my trance and I do not think I would have awakened like I had if it didn’t find me. It’s hard to say what got me out of my trance, maybe it was the general vibe of the song, maybe I was trying to get back to myself in a way, but it felt like it lit the way. I ended up getting out of that relationship, every hard turn in my life after that I had Trip the Mains somewhere and I could just feel the strength of myself figuring it out. I just wanted to thank you for the sounds, the lyrics, and the art, it helped change everything for me I think.
