While this was a good game, it is a shame that they keep stapling on stories to Metro instead of telling this story as a separate thing. Purposeful ambiguity like the actual existence of the great worm is lost. Every time they invent new context it further mangles any message the original story tried to convey. Inventing a happy afterlife when Kahn originally said that heaven, hell, and purgatory were atomized in the book. It gives Kahn a "purpose" when there isn't supposed to be any purpose left. That's the point, mankind failed because it was violent and stupid, it was given a second chance with the dark ones, but drove them extinct because it is still violent and stupid. Humanity has no hope or future other than to slowly go extinct and relive their most agonizing moments for all eternity, the end.

@@kachel313 That is also a videogame. What I said is that the games mangle the original story and erase the message it was trying to convey simply so they can give audiences a happy ending, and leave the path open for more sequels. If you were not trying to at least maintain the message of the original work, why bother making it "Metro" at all. Make it its own franchise.

Man, I love the Metro universe and I was sad to know, that the next game was going to be VR (can't play those). But watching you and getting to know more about Khan was awesome. I want to take a second to thank you! Thanks for playing it!

Wouldn't it be better if all the games weren't just tacked on to Metro? Anything resembling the original message and story is completely gone at this point. They could have made these games and called it something else rather than taking away the messages and stories these characters were trying to tell.

the Metro game series as a whole is really good with making sure you don't *need* to use HUD or UI elements for keeping track of your stuff and allows for a HUDless experience. So a translation into VR works really well since the same inventory management principles apply.

From someone who has played all the other Metro games. This was a lot like the older games. Everything fit within the older games, hell when I heard the intro guitar song start up, it litterally sucked me back to the first time I played 2033. And Wolf. I emplore you to play the older ones, I know they are not natively vr, but I am sure you can get them to work or just go flat screen for them

Every one of these games just mangle the message from the book. I wish they could invent something new rather than tacking on a bunch of nonsense onto existing characters who used to have a message and story to tell.

I found playing the spider sections really scary. I don't know how many times I hit the headset with the hand controllers in a desperate attempt to pull the large spiders off my face. As always, thanks for the walkthrough. I always play an hour and then watch you play the same section as it helps me to follow the story.

I was genuinely surprised to see that this was a Prequel that explained the Series' arguably most mysterious character. You really should play the other three games now. 2033, Last Light(+ DLCs), and Exodus(+ DLCs).

20:00 in hardcore mode it takes 2 blow darts rendering the weapon utterly useless and you get absolutely no other kind of ammo in this level (and you dont have ammo with you anymore). had to turn the difficulty down for this one level because (while it possible) an open 40min trench fight with blow darts in a dark surreal environment is nothing but pain. Idg why they made it so its not a one-shot anymore. felt so unbalanced

Awesome series! At the end they hinted that they were interested in making another VR game. I was kind of hoping they would another metro game for PC and consoles. Still, it will be cool to see what they make next. Maybe adding in a bullet economy and shops like the past games.

Hi Wolf, love your vids. But can you please make spoiler free thumbnails from now on? In my video suggestions I see this thumbnail, and I'm in the middle of the story of finding Yana and our kid. This thumbnail suggests I will find them.
