Take a ride on the METRO Green Line as it travels from St. Paul's Lowertown to the new Target Field Station in Minneapolis. Front and rear view footage shot with GoPro cameras mounted to the body of a new Siemens S70 light-rail vehicle during a test run of the METRO Green Line. We do have it in Chicago, its called metra electric! Minnesota learned from Chicago's system.

We in chicago have a way better transit system and its because chicago is a bigger city and yes Metra Electric and South Shore is very similar. and the "L" is boss too so ya lol

Sharlyon Clepper I just seeing your comment and Metra Electric is different from what this is. Metra Electric is a commuter train while this is a light rail. Sure both takes passengers to places but I think this would work in The Chicago Area. Like for example the suburbs a light rail system connecting with the Metra and CTA L Lines would work and get to places more quicker than buses and more green.

How much is bus fare these days in Mini? Here in Edmonton it's $3.25 adult buss passes are closing in at $90/month.

Seniors / Youth / Medicare (6-12, 65+): $0.75 Disabled: $0.75 13--64: $1.75 Express Fare: $2.25 or $3.00, depending on if it's rush hour or not. Downtown Zone (Downtown Mpls or St. Paul): $0.50

:) I know the feeling. In the 80's I lived 9710 156th street in the West End here in Edmonton 1985-1995 and all along that time, I could count on one hand how many times I've been to West Edmonton Mall, and that was just one ETS bus ride away (10 minutes) These days we're lucky if we get out that way once a year.

I like the look of the light rail train between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis, but I understand that it isn't safe after 7 pm. Apparently they don't monitor the collection of fares, and hoodlums/thugs are able to board the trains, without any fear of police. Sad.

It would cost 4 to 6 Times less when use BRT.

Keep your bullet proof vest within reach, do not step on yellow puddles on the train, do not hassle gangbangers and vagrants. Remember in Minnesota you have a Duty to Retreat from criminals. Do not hurt criminals. You will be arrested. The ticket is flexible it's an HONOR SYSTEM - Minnesota nice don't you know. Sarcastic yes.

The Green Line is a waste of one billion dollars in tax money. The Green Line failed to eliminate the collocated bus route (which is quicker than the "lite" rail). The Express bus from STP to MPLS (and vice versa) is faster). It stops at every red traffic signal ("they" have no plans to give the "lite" rail priority at signals). Ridership is virtually non-existent.

All of what you just said is wrong. Yes it was slow the first few months of service. But you have to expect there to be imperfections with every new thing. Ride time is now down to what they had originally projected. And the on time rating has gone way up. And saying ridership is nonexistent is funny considering it is already above what they had predicted a year from now.

The 94 bus is an express bus. Unlike the green line, it doesn't serve all the areas in between Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
