AND they use the opening 3 notes from Fanfare for the Common Man as the 'doors closing' jingle (0:58). Love it, reminds me of the live recording at the Big Owe. That was a cold day...

Those still existing but all on yellow and blue lines. The orange line are only with new AZUR trains and green line have few of them running on. The model we see in video are MR-73. The other model witch was retired from service are the MR-63 model. STM save one element of 3 cars of them and 1 are at Exporail museum

During one of my rare visits to Toronto, I rode every Subway line from beginning to end just to satisfy my curiosity. As expected, the noises in general were louder than on the Montreal Metro due to the TTC's steel wheels on steel tracks and weird, mechanical motor noises on some of the older rolling stock when the trains stopped at stations. One time a Subway driver announced on the PA for all passengers to disembark and to wait for and board the train behind, presumably due to a mechanical issue or that he was going off duty. This has never happened to me while on the Montreal Metro, although delays do occur there as well and passengers can either stay on the train until the announced "incident" is over or optionally leave the train and switch to bus service at street level. No subway or metro in the world is perfect and never will be.

I"m surprised by the lack of English signage. I thought bilingual signage was Canadian law.

I've always loved the sound that the electricals make when a Metro starts moving. It's like a medieval battle horn blowing, signalling a charge. They took the sound and made the door chime with the same notes. Somehow, this video managed to NOT get it so here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnPbk4tsh8eirLs
