I always thought the gloves Artyom wore in this demo looked cool, and was disappointed that he only wears them during the final level of the game besides when you run into the Bear there's a second where your gloves change to these ones when you're getting up then they change back to the green ones.

+BrokenOpus I played both the original and the redux. The redux is more refined but the original has scarier enemy models and the atmosphere in general seems much darker which kinda fits the game better. The redux is still good tho.

BrokenOpus I played the original, and I think that in the original game you have only the option to kill the dark ones, but in Redux you can spare them, too. If you noticed, at the ending of the Redux version, after you shoot the dark one, you wake up and you see him again on the floor. You can shoot him, or the missile launcher. But in the original game, I didn't get that option.

Original 2033 was developed for PC and ported to 360. Redux was ported and optimized for PS4/XBO mainly

The stealth system is pretty realistic. Enemies won't stop looking for you after they've found a body or spotted you once, no matter how good you've hidden yourself. You can also reveal yourself accidentally by stepping on glass, I believe even by reloading your gun or by other actions that make noise IRL. They probably revealed themselves without noticing it. Happens quite often. But you can use the three LEDs on your watch to see how well you're hidden.

I think he means that we hear thunder too soon after we see lighting. IRL the delay is 0-10 seconds depending on the distance between us and the lighting strike. On the other hand, lightings shown here in video were very close to us (tree, building), so the thunder sound comes almost instantly...

The attention to detail in the animation is amazing. Did they really need to add that subtle throw of the air filter when he picks it up? or an animation of him screwing it in? No, but it makes it so much more immersive and amazing. Great job on this game guys.

Because if you bothered to read the video description, you'd know the the other guy is an officer in the Russian military, therefore had access to such things during the crisis. And just because it was made in a garage doesn't mean it's inferior. The sten is considered a garage machine shop weapon and it was a standard issue SMG for the Brits in WW2.

Thunder is the sound lightning makes Therefore there would be a < 1 second delay between the lightning and the thunder unless the storm were more than 340m away

just about. Any stage from when they create a mere sketch to when they release the alpha version is considered pre-alpha. Pre-alpha is usually finalized about 3-5 months before the final version, version 1.0 is copied onto discs to be sold. Then a month later, when the discs and DLC versions are released to be played by consumers, an additional patch is usually released.

first of all - i cant freaking wait...the first game had such an amazing atmosphere. something ive never seen in an other game. you could feel the emotion the scenes were trying to portrait. second of all - holy damn this games look beautiful. and finally (similar to the first thing) the plane flash back part. i could FEEL that feeling of dispair and panic. i dont know about the general gameplay but im sure this game will deliver in story and atmosphere. just like the first one

@KoolAidBeans The weapons sounded much stronger than they did in M2033, the reloads no longer take ages, this was a early mission so ammo was everywere (it was a press release), and the "one shot" is just a high caliber metro rifle (it should be a bullpup).

Thats left it open. The only things known are that every country fired its nuclear missile disposal and no one except those in shelter survived that. The EMPs and missiles destroyed all communication systems except the radio transmitters. The Metro in Russia is in this game the biggest nuclear shelter. They tried to make contact over raido with other survivors, managing to contact a few submarines and survivors around Russia. They didnt manage to make contact outside the country yet.

Being able to sneak up behind them for a simple QTE, especially one that depends on what you have equipped would be nice. If you got a pistol, pistol whip, they are unconscious. Rifle butt, knocks them down unconscious, but could alert those really close by since it wouldn't be quite. Knife would be a silent kill and maybe fists out would be a silent knockout.

in the first game there was an option to have the dialouge in english so you could play the entire game with everyone speaking russian with english subtitles
