Metro: Last Light (formerly known as Metro 2034) is the sequel to Metro 2033 in development at 4A Games and will be published by Deep Silver.
The story takes place after Metro 2033, with a new story guided by Dmitry Glukhovsky but written in house at 4A-Games. The story will continue from the canonical ending of the previous game, in which Artyom presumably destroyed the dark ones. In this setting Artyom, Khan and many others Rangers will join forces once again to defend D6 from many foes including the Fourth Reich, communists and bandits. With this new installment 4A has promised a multitude of new weapons, such as a bolt-action rifle, a hand powered chain gun, a single-shot pistol and a homemade grenade launcher, and new locations to play in. Weapons from Metro 2033 will make a return, such as the Bastard, Kalash, VSV, Uboinik, and even a new hand-held flamethrower.
It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside -- and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival -- the last light in our darkest hour...

they're overrated. the little ones that they're referring to are supposedly the more venomous of the nice selection of species we have here in the valley. it's the only kind Ii've ever been stung by. the other kind are called the hairy scorp, nice name eh? but the little bastards aren't stingy with the sting. they'll TAPTAPTAP, nail you two or three times and while it sucks(arm was numb for like a week), I'd take it over a hornet sting or some of the other shit we have crawling around here. strange story: I was housesitting for a friend and doing some dishes, his house was in Scottsdale, AZ, and an airvent over my head delivered a wandering scorpion right on to my head and I never would've known if it hadn't ricocheted into the sink. it was just as surprised as me, crawled around in there with its tail down(unaggressive posture)

If you're afraid of a little bug, you need to get out into the world more. By the way, smashing it would have worked well, or you could eat it Bear Grylls style. It depends on the type of scorpion and it's size, but I wouldn't worry about getting stung by one and in most cases it doesn't involve death if you go into anaphylactic shock which is common when getting stung by insects and is survivable. Most people are just ignorant when it comes to venomous insects and snakes and learning about them takes a lot of the fears and phobias away when you find out they're not as dangerous as one would normally perceive. I do understand encountering those kinds of insects are scary, we've had a bit of a spider problem before with black widows and brown recluses. We had to have an exterminator come out to help us get rid of a massive recluse infestation in our apartment building where a guys cat got bit more than once and it ended up dying. There were also a few people bit, but they didn't die, yet they had really nasty necrosis and needed skin graphing.
