Wait I read all the books and I'm confused, how are the Spartans not the good guys? The bad guys by the end of Metro 2035 are basically the Reds and the invisible Observers, no?

@@trimmy8461 SPOILERS The Spartans were an extension of the invisible observers. They funded and probably even started the conflicts between Hansa, Red Line and Fourth Reich to keep the Metro under control and in fear, to have people never thinking much about the outside. And in 2035 we learn that they fund at the very least the Red Line to stay in this fight, who knows how many times they changed which side they supported to always make sure nobody wins over the other. The Spartans, as some of them were the most experienced Stalkers, also knew about the radio blockers and also helped "deal" with Stalkers that found them. Remember that at the end of 2035 it's the Spartans hunting Artyom with trucks as he leaves Moscow. This entire world of suffering is shaped by the invisible order and their visible hand, the Spartans. Instead of senselessly killing each other and keeping things like D6 a secret and spending resources on radio outposts, they could have wiped out the mutants and brought the Metro to relative prosperity. And wasnt there also a disease that spread through the Metro in 2035 or 2034? Sure wouldnt be surprised if that was a controlled release.

Yupp, you do build up PP fairly quickly! Maybe in the future the Dev uses the excess PP for other functions! 🤞🏻

For context the reason the special forces of the rangers are completely yoked. The rangers are some of the few remaining people in the metro who have actual pre-war military training. Not just that but most of them are ex-spetznaz Russian special forces. Compared to the average soldier of the metro that mostly consists of civilians drafted with zero training and poor equipment they’re basically gods amongst men in the asymmetrical warfare of the tunnels. There’s only a had full of reason why they haven’t taken over the entire METRO most of them are spoilers but the non-spoliers is that they’re very VERY low in numbers and they’re attached to Polis a station consisting of most of the surviving scientific community and a sworn neutral entity. As a result most rangers are stuck fighting and dying against mutants while the Reds, and the Reich bleed each other white.

Does anyone remember playing metro 2033 on xbox 360 or pc. I love the redux but i really fell in love with the stalker like engine they used for the first game with looting and stealth. I don't remember it all. Still trying to find old videos of the original release
