Did you know from 1980's-2008 the metrocentre hosted the biggest indoor theme park in europe "metroland' sadly closed in 2008 to be replaced with a HUGE cinema, but still a commonly spoke about feat of the north, i remember it vividly even after only visiting once or twice most aged 5 or 6.

In America we have a store called TJ Max, I thought I was losing it at first when you called it TK Max

In Canada, we have Winners, Home Sense which are under the same parent company TJX. I am surprised TJX hasn't rebrand Winners into TJ Max.

Apparently when TJ Maxx opened in the UK in 1994 they saw the UK chain T J Hughes and changed to T K Maxx to avoid 'confusion'.. useless fact I found out last weekend 😂

Nice vid mate. Been to Gateshead but not sure I've ever popped into the Metrocentre, but to be honest - since visiting Kuwait & their mega malls, every mall since is a bit underwhelming.

Cheers mate! Yeah I know what you mean 🤣 Even being in China and going to the local shopping malls they’re far better than anything here, can be very underwhelming haha. The metro centre used to be great when they had a theme park inside, but they took it all down. But if you’re ever in the north east it’s definitely the best shopping centre around

Glad you you enjoyed 🙏 It's much cheaper from the south and you get slot more for your money. There has been a lot of people recently from the south that have bought property in York and Durham places like that especially after the pandemic when people were locked in small places with no garden in London. I think 250k gets you great home, gardens and nice area

More houses with gardens up here. Most of the London population seem to be stuck in medium or high rise!
