But she is enhanced by the Chozos genes and there for she can use the suit in the first place. But even before that she was a kickass, at least the original concept when she joined the police force. She did not only beat their obstacle to join the squad, but also broke their record. So even without the chozo suit or the genese, she still kicked ass.
@madmachinex7 жыл бұрын
My two cents on this is such, We watch batman to see Batman Not Bruce Wayne. hell everyone panned Iron man 3 because we saw vary little iron man suit. There are good points to see Samus out of her suit but wile she is active I see no reason why we need to see Zero suit if not to ogle her and conform that yes Samus is a chick. It brakes her character. Like Batman or Tony Start or any other bad ass Super person for that matter to pop out of there power suit for wherever reason. Lastly Zero Suit Samus in Smash is a terrible metric as that was Nintindo doing its usually fan pandering. Hell they completely removed her form the newest Metroid game, her only making a cameo appearance, as I knew they would. Lets face it people, Nintindos treatment of Samus Aran is and I HATE to say this. Food for people like Anita Sarkeesian, to smash devs and there treatment of female characters. We couldn't have that one exception, NOPE we had to turn Samus into a sex symbol. We will NEVER see another Metroid game, or another Metroid anything for that matter. All thanks to you. Sincerely a former diehard metroid fan.
@camobranson097 жыл бұрын
You uh... you ridin' the white pony, Bud? Samus is more than just her suit, Batman is more than just Batman, and Tony is more than just Iron Man. Your view point on this is what has led to such one-dimensional characters that plague the video game and movie industries. Canon points where Samus is out of her suit: 1. Metroid: Zero Mission when the scenario displayed in the video plays out. They literally ripped what just happened from the game. 2. A good chunk of Other M. That's it. That and you could say that technically Fusion she's in A "zero suit" but it's not the zero suit. Samus is a sex symbol in the same regard that boba fett is one for females. Know why guys find Samus sexy? She's a beautiful woman who's strong, confident, and capable. She's not some meandering bimbo, she's not just a set of tits in latex/lycra. She's an amazing character. Idiots like you are the ones who break her down into just some flesh in a body suit and that's what is pissing people off. If the fans didn't care what she acted like, symbolized, and her overall character than Other M wouldn't have bombed as hard as it did, and that one featured more Zero Suit Samus than any other canon game. So why should Samus ever be out of the suit? Simple: It conveys a since of urgency and weakness. It pushes the vulnerabilities to the fold and lets Samus show that it's her, not the suit, that makes her so good at combat and that the suit is no more than one of Batman's batarangs or Batmobile. It is a tool she uses to increase her own potential. Also saying Anita Sarkeesian has any sort of pull with anyone with a fraction of a brain cell is rediculous. The woman totes that victim badge like one of honor and frankly, she's a cancer to society as a whole and not just the gaming community.
@metroidpowner278 жыл бұрын
I don't have a problem with a Zero mission story, but what I do have a problem with is people not sticking with the Metroid canon. Her suit isn't some Ironman shtick where it can be damaged and removed. It's an ancient piece of chozo technology she can summon at will thanks to their dna they fused within her. Sound effects, ambient, her character, everything else is on point. Just know that if we were to trust Hollywood with a Metroid film they can't jeopardize it like they do with most adaptations.

You realize despite not having an actual voice until Prime, she still had spoken dialouge in Super and Fusion despite in the actual roleplaying aspect of gameplay. She doesnt talk during the gameplay because she's alone and has no need to, plus you're supposed to "be her" in those times. In this case it's far different due to the fact that it's more narrative rather than a player playing a role.

In her Zero Suit, I can picture her having a combat style that's a mix of what we get in Smash Bros combined with Batman from the Arkham games, sans whip and her boots since those don't exist in the Metroid canon. Flipping around the room, knocking down enemies with a few quick blows, throwing one of them at another, and being just as scary as she is with her Power Suit. If they ever make a Metroid show, it needs to be an animated series because a movie won't do enough for the character and her missions and live-action won't work with how nuts her moveset really is.

I think this is a perfect example of why a Metroid movie should never be made or even attempted. Which isn't to say it's bad, but it just wasn't compelling and illustrates why all the core tenets that make Metroid games great simply do not translate to film. Way too much time out of the suit , cheesy dialogue, the need for copious special effects, and most importantly the themes of isolation and discovery just didn't come across well.
@BlindVoid8 жыл бұрын
I think a Metroid movie still could have potential. The short didn't really highlight it but I think themes of isolation could easily fit in a movie, especially if it goes for a sci-fi horror kind of thing much like Alien did (which would especially fit an infiltration segment like the one in Zero Mission). I also don't think special effects would be that bad for something based of a game but I don't really mind it in any movie so I can't really say. Dialogue would be a problem I think however, but that's assuming the movie can't do something unique with it which I'm sure it could, I just wouldn't count on it. But yeah, to get a Metroid movie right they're gonna have to be real clever, but I would never go as far to say as it shouldn't be attempted.
@Lockn3s58 жыл бұрын
Actually, the idea for Metroid came from a movie already which quite competently portrayed an isolate atmosphere. The movie is called Alien by Ridley Scott. Now what I think would be fantastic is a Metroid movie with no spoken dialogue at all.
@EclipseClass8 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure everyone is aware of the influence Alien had on Metroid, Ridley's name is the most blatant reference. But Alien had a supporting cast for most of the movie, Ripley wasn't really totally alone until the very end of the movie. Furthermore Ripley had pretty much no weaponry or any chance whatsoever in combat with the Alien. Samus is a one woman planet buster, the differences are pretty noticeable. That's why Metroid makes a pretty good GAME, but not a good MOVIE. It's compelling to play but would be horribly boring to watch. Even Corruption, which had a decently sized set of side characters still had Samus alone for 90% of it. Movies need a narrative thrust driven by multiple characters interacting with each other or an event, which Metroid just can't provide unless you want to turn it into some generic action movie.
@BlindVoid8 жыл бұрын
I see where you're coming from, and I guess there are many more ways this kind of movie can go horribly wrong than ways it can go right. I guess I just like being optimistic is all. I still think it could be great in the right hands, but let's face it, when does that ever happen to a movie based on a video game.
@Lockn3s58 жыл бұрын
EclipseClass I don't believe that. You say that it would be boring yet any feelings can be properly conveyed through film. Film is a visual medium and you can still make a good movie by breaking conventions. Look at the first half of the Wall-E movie. No supporting characters until Eva comes along. No dialogue other than saying their own names occasionally. Was that first half of the movie not compelling enough? Actually I think it's pretty widely agreed that the first half of the movie was better than the second half because they conveyed the feeling of isolation very well without any dialogue. That's the power of the visual medium of film. Done the right way, you needn't any dialogue to convey certain themes, emotions, and feelings.

Here is where we got the music. The composer has some incredible music so be sure to check out some of his other music too. audiojungle.net/item/super-hero-rising-trailer/14313917?s_rank=1&ref=GatehouseGuardians

Very cool, thank you. It's too bad that as just a passive listener (NOT a youtuber) I cannot find this to simply listen to. The "AUDIOJUNGLE" loop is grading... And I'm not about to pay the price for an ALBUM to listen to one song.
@TheBackyardFilmmakers7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I can see that. Audiomachine has some awesome music that I love to listen to on KZbin. Brand X, Immediate Music, Two Steps from Hell and Future World music are all awesome as well. I'm sure you've heard of them before, but just in case you haven't I thought I'd mention them.

This is probably the best looking real life Varia suit I've ever seen. Many attempts are admirable, but fall short, though the impossible proportions of the suit don't help, but this looks phenomenal. That and the space pirates felt threatening with their dialogue. Fantastic work.
@TheBackyardFilmmakers8 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! Ainsley, our actress, did the suit herself. We thought it was incredible when we saw it and knew we had to work with her to make a fan film. You can check out her facebook page in the description.

Just watched Sky Call before this one, but honestly I prefer this one, it doesnt look at flashy for sure, but the Samus character is much better played in this one, she didnt look scared even once, which is how its supposed to be, always thinking, always planning the next seven moves ahead. no time to be the scared little rabbit damsil in distress. amazing!
@TheBackyardFilmmakers8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it. I thought the Sky Calls one was absolutely amazing, but I was excited to offer a different take on Samus by keeping her mysterious and stuff. I feel the Sky Calls would have been better if they kept her more mysterious and hard core. When all is said and done though, I still watch their film and think I hope to be as good as them one day.

I recognized the space center from the leds lining the brig, it's cool that you did this there.

Might as well. Team Ninja and Nintendo have already ruined it.

Suit cgi looks so good. With how well the Sonic and Mario movies are doing hopefully we'll get a Metroid movie. It'd be awesome!

you should have mlns of subs

Thanks! That's an awesome thought. I'm assuming mlns means millions of subscibers and not minions as substitutes :).

After the Mario movie there need to be a "Metroid movie" (live action) "Donkey Kong series" (animated style) "Zelda ocarina of time"/"Breath of the wild" (breath of the wild graphics/live action) "SSBU World of light movie" (og style) "Star fox series" ( smash bros- like style) Some ideas cause we know Nintendo will make more in the future.

I couldn't even breathe, great work! I love were the story is going and LOVED the dog fight like it is shown on Zero Mission!! The effects, considering the budget, it's all so amazing. Even though the actress is short (Samus is way taller) I liked her a lot! Great work. LONG LIVE METROID!!

There's an arrangement of "Title" and "Silence" from Metroid, along with "Theme of SUPER METROID" called 'Footprints on Zebes' by the artist Slimy. It makes for a breathtaking cinematic orchestral piece that would be _perfect_ for a Metroid movie.
