FYI, the chronological order of the mainline Metroid series is this: Metroid (NES) / Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA - The remake) - 1 Metroid II: Return of Samus (Game Boy) / Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS - The remake) - 2 Super Metroid (SNES) - 3 Metroid Fusion (GBA) - 4 Metorid Dread (Switch) - 5 The Metroid Prime series are canon, but have their own story arc. They are situated between 1 & 2. I am impressed what Mercury Steam did with the Metroid franchise. Metroid Dread has shown us how the Spanish studio has improved since their Castlevania Lords of Shadow Days.

There's also Other M that occurs between Super and Fusion, making it a 3.5 of sorts, but given how lackluster the story was, it's understandable that not much attention is paid to it in Dread lol Speaking of, I just beat Dread earlier this evening at 100%. Spectacular game, I strongly recommend it to anyone

Metroid Prime does feel more like a side series involving what the Space Pirates have done regarding Metroids. Particularly the one Metroid that adapted to sustain on Phazon, a highly radioactive organic material with interdimensional properties that even caused a planetary superposition. That Metroid became classified as Metroid Prime, and has been the archenemy of Samus of that series. Yes, for those who didn't 100% Prime 1, you are facing Prime in the entire series and might not have realized it. As if X parasites are already a horrifying organism is not enough to instill existential dread.

@@MetalShadowX Other M adds nothing to the Metroid storyline that's actually desirable considering that it pretty much torpedoes Adam as a likable character / mentor figure for Samus, does nothing for developing Samus's character or background in a positive way and nothing that happens during the game is of any relevance to the other games.

4:00 korone singing "chotto matte" in christmas tune XD 2:25:00 after getting morph ball she really should have varia suit by now to deal with the heat since you hear Kraid's roaring around this area she was in. Its annoying not knowing where to go to get the upgrades in order =/ 2:32:00 she finally gets varia suit XD 2:56:00 Kraid Boss tip: Phase 1: All you have to do is spam beam shot at claws and rocks he throws at you. You barely have to move except dodge rocks maybe or a claw you missed. You do not have to wait for his mouth to open. Just fire missiles and charged shots at his head. (shooting missiles is faster). *THE BEST THING TO DO IS SPAM MISSILES AT HIS FACE* while he fires claws at you, then spam beam shots to get health back from rocks if necessary. Phase 2: Get rid of poison balls that bounce around. Wait for his claw/platforms to fire from his three belly holes that serve as platforms for you to go up to the spider magnet blue spot up near the ceiling and fire missiles or charged shots at his face (missiles is faster). If he swipes at you, just fall down before he hits you. When he holds his belly cuz you damaged his weak belly hole spot, he will fire all three claw/platforms at the same time. You can dodge them by sliding/kneeling or ducking or go into morph ball mode 3:13:00 she defeats kraid 3:15:20 Diffusion Beam (spread explosion AOE damage) 4:07:00 Korone gets speed booster and sings the name of upgrade to the upgrade theme. 4:15:00 Korone gets distracted after noticing an item upgrade, goofs around, then reads chat reminding her about getting the item. "Item? I don't know no item" she says while going back for it. (this is at least the second time she's done this in this vid) 4:25:40 Unfortunately she's going the right way but is missing an upgrade to do magnet beam pull due to going ahead too fast into the map/story. 4:32:40 She finally gets the Rope Beam upgrade XD 4:40:00 one of the best things about this game, is that it references so much about metroid lore and previous games, they even included art that was seen in Samus Returns and they're all relevant and connected
Favourite thing about this stream: Korone calling EMMIs "Emimi".

You and I have wildly differing opinions on what constitutes "amazing".
I simply came here to check if Quiet Robe's speech was different in the Japanese version, and its not. Nor was any of Adam's dialog. Meaning the Chozo tribe is canonically called Chozo, despite originating as an error of translation.
@Hocotatium1113 жыл бұрын
I think the term "Chozo" wasn't really a translation error, but rather a way to create an "alien" sounding word out of the original Japanese word. If sounds better than the direct translation, "bird people race", and not distinctly Japanese like "choujinzoku". This particular game was by a western studio, so I guess it makes sense that the Chozo language doesn't use the Japanese terminology as its baseline.

It's done in a few franchises, like Dark Souls and the first 3 Devil May Cry games. My guess is the developers want the games to invoke more of a western feel.

Metroid has never really been popular in Japan, sadly. It's got a bit western sci-fi feel so I suppose keeping the English reinforces that, since it's inspired by the Alien movies and all that. Heck the used to even come out in the West before Japan despite being Japanese made. Thankfully Dread is the best selling Metroid in Japan already.
