What I love about this game is it just gives off the vibe a video game should. Their is no super drawn out intro where Samus makes some dramatic entrance on screen, you don't get ANY notion from the meta reaction to this game. Their is no "awww yeah the long awaited return of Samus is FINALLY HAPPENING!" sort of moment. It's just another business as usual kind of game. It reminds me of those GameCube classics like TTYD and Sunshine where the game is just being another quality game in the series it is a part of. Cashing in on nostalgia was the one thing I was worried about, especially since Samus Returns was filled with it. Metroid was never a series about throwing nostalgic things at the player. Granted, Samus Returns was a remake, so it made sense to reuse familiar tunes, but they were definitely playing it safe back then. The fanfares in particular were pulled straight from Prime, weren't they? And Lower Norfair was THE theme of ultra-heated areas.
@ayoutubesaccount99272 жыл бұрын
@@SparkpadArt Yeah, I hated Lower Norfair in SR (it already wore on me after backtracking so much through Magmoor in Prime 1), and i don't really like the intro song from Super Metroid being reused for every game from now on, but I don't mind remixing the fanfares and item room theme for every game, since they're tied to mechanics that have the same context across multiple games regardless of area, like Sonic's drowning music or the Final Fantasy victory jingle, and they don't play in full areas of the map, only a few rooms here and there or when you get an item.
@SparkpadArt2 жыл бұрын
The fanfares are fine, but I prefer when they're rearranged for each game, or at least each system. Gives them a sense of identity. Samus Returns didn't have that, which is especially jarring when the original Metroid 2 had a different key for the item sound and a completely different Samus intro.

Hi shit I was so focused on absorbing the lore that I didn’t even notice this track in the background. This is one of my favorite songs from the franchise and this version really does it justice.

I really just wish you could hear this in an area of the game instead of one time in a cutscene. It's so good it's a shame it only plays once. It's also my favorite theme in the series.

The scene when this song plays made me shed a tear, it was so well made, a stellar metroid moment.

I just adore the little detail of adding the jingle of the Chozo ceremonial robes to the beat of the music.

I will admit I had to cry as soon as this started playing. It was like coming home. What a beautiful point in the story.

I’m glad they used the Samus Returns remix as the basis for this remix. That one is by far the best version of this song so far (yes, better than Torvus Catacombs) - but they’re all so amazing. Goes to show how good this song is!

I love lower brinstar, but it seems like this and lower Norfair get remixed in every game. EDIT: I changed my mind. This is amazing in every way.

@@Kid_Ying I just got to the part in the game where this plays. I’m so glad it’s not an area theme, it was perfect for what it was. Idk why I complained. It’s an amazing song.

While that’s true, I think this game uses lower brinstar in a much more interesting way then some of the other remixes, regardless tho who doesn’t love lower brinstar haha

@@Kid_Ying Agreed. It’s probably jarring as shit for newcomers to just get to a lore dump like that though. That part was clearly there for the fans.

Imagine ridley’s lair/hideout in this game would be so nice tbh. And even a fight against Ridley or something that it’s looks like him would be very cool

I'd like the thank Mercury Stram for Putting this song during an important cut scene only so I can miss all that important information because "OH MY GOD RED SOIL!!!! DOOOOOOOOOOOOO DO-DO-DOOOOOOO!!!!❤"

This theme has now officially become the Chozo theme! Also I feel like Super Metroid using this version of Red Brinstar would fit perfectly.

They've redone this theme several times and I love it every time. It was in Super Metroid and Metroid Prime 2. I remember years ago, one of my friends showed me they even had this song in one of the Paper Mario's
