I just realized that this boss was actually an xbox. Jokes aside, this remix is pretty good. We could expect something similar from a Fusion remake (if it ever exists).

@@Bullboy_Adventures did you know that originally the team of Dread wanted to make a Fusion remake but Sakamoto instead insisted that they made a Metroid II remake

I could see the first version playing in the initial encounter with the BOX Bot, then before it escapes, an X parasite forces it’s way into the inner workings of the machine and takes control, forcing it to jump away, then wrecking havoc throughout the BSL station until you re-encounter it in NOC, where it’s clearly been physically affected by the infection. Cue the second remix as X-BOX charges at Samus.

Yeah. Every time I heard someone else do it, it always felt like they couldn't get it right. Glad to see someone managed to hit that sweet spot.

I would’ve loved to see this fight reimagined when the X infected the Security Robot. Like could you imagine if it really tried to utilize the intangibility of Wave Beam to hit you? Ability to pass through walls with it’s weapons AND itself. For example, it would shoot its missiles at you as cover to move through the floor, and pop out by lunging at you. I think it really would fit the fear theme that Fusion does so brilliantly and make it much easier for new players to distinguish. This way they’ll be looking forward to a weapon upgrade once the Core-X appears. While without the infection, it would be smarter of course, analytic, and attacks would be coordinated and fast. Like throwing its grenades, jumping and trying to hit you with some improv. However, with Wave Beam Infection and with this in mind it would change the dynamic; making it much more spontaneous, erratic, agile, and use the missiles as a distraction to cover its movements by really utilizing the boss room to kill you.

This could've been a thing if Nintendo gave Mercury Steam permission to remake Metroid Fusion like they originally wanted to. But instead they allowed them to remake Metroid 2 which is just as nice 😊

I knew that I wouldn't be able to make the Xbox joke first. Though, fun fact, if you play through the game and get to the part where the X infects the ventilation and you have to clear it up, the junk that surrounds the X actually has a bunch of devices, including a GameCube, and yes, there is an Xbox in there. How funny is that?

I always wondered what B.O.X. actually means. Not only that, but the German localization team changed it to "EL/P" which also has no official explanation. Apparently, in Japan it's just known as「ボックス」-> "Bokkusu" -> "Box".
