It would be nice, but I’m very tired of Nintendo dragging their feet with Metroid Prime 4. Give us 2 and 3 in a lead up, sure, but they need to say or show something regarding 4

Oh we will get Prime 2 Remastered. As Nintendo is giving Gamecube games a number of remasters, it makes all the sense in the world Prime 2 gets Remastered like Prime 1. As for Prime 3 as it's a Wii game, it would likely get the Skyward Sword HD treatment instead of a full on remaster as it doesn't need the remaster treatment as much as Prime 1 and 2.

@@ItApproaches - but it’s been over year since we got _MP1_ remastered… you’d think we have got _2_ by now, especially since the release schedule so far this year has been sparse. and I haven’t played much of _MP3_ at all (that’s why I want it remastered!), but I know they gave _1 & 2_ motion controls in the trilogy collection on the Wii… would it be possible to just revert to the classic control scheme, or is there too much motion-y stuff to make that work?

I got a bug on PHAAZE where the huge cocoon is it wouldn't let me use the wave beam to target the weak points or spawn anything on my MP Trilogy version... First of the Trilogy I played through, only one I never got to finish... And I finished 1 and 2 2x before the remaster.

I'll be real surprised if we don't get anything Metroid at the June Direct. They gotta at least have Prime 2/3 (Remaster or Port) ready by now.

I’m used to no news. So I expect no news. We know literally nothing about this game seven years later and I don’t feel like it’s about to change. When it’s revealed it will come out of nowhere and hopefully live up to the hype and intrigue.

I mean,, I'm the (sort of) 'opposite' now. The Switch '2' announcement for me was the Watershed moment I feel even Nintendo themselves had to almost get off their chests. No coincidence that it happened just after the Investors' meeting - though I'm just glad it was confirmed. For me, that has opened the floodgates now.

I am definitely expecting MP2 and maybe MP3 at the June Direct, but I really want MP4 to be a cross gen title. If it is, I don’t see a release date being announced for the game - but I could see them showing off a teaser of some kind.

Even if June Direct is wholly Switch focused. The Switch 2 stuff will come September at the very latest imo. And yeah, Prime 4 is still slated as a Switch title so it has to be there in the June Direct.

I kinda think we need to see Prime 2/3 in a vacuum before seeing ANYTHING Prime 4 related. So Prime 2/3 shadowdrop in June, then Prime 4 during the Switch 2 blowout which I don't think we see until almost near the end of their fiscal year, sadly.

We’re seeing this June and it’s coming out this October and everyone will be happy. Also to play Devil’s advocate with the Cross gen release theory alot of people like to bring up it happend with TP and BoTW but neglect to realize the difference between GC and WiiU with the Switch, the fact the Switch is a monster in the sales department. From a sales standpoint it isn’t really need to make MP4 or any game cross gen cause the install base is already there.

If Nintendo plans to publish MP4 still on Switch... The have to reveal it in the next months. Otherwise it seems that MP4 will be a Switch 2 or Crosstitle. I'm exited and will also be happy about a MP2/3 Remaster first. Hopefully Metroid Prime 4 will meet our expectations.

I hope Prime 4 comes out this year. It was one of the only reasons I bought a switch back in 2021. if it's cross gen, that would invalidate me even purchasing a switch, especially if backward compatibility exists between the switch and the switch successor because I could've just waited three more years and purchased the stronger more powerful hardware

I think we very well could see it next month. And that if it releases in 2024, it’ll just be a Switch game. Here’s what else I wanna see in this Direct: The new 3D Mario game The new Mario Kart game New games for NSO I think there’s more, but I forgot them. But everyone seems to want Prime 2/3, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and likely a new DK game.

I wouldn't be surprised Metroid prime 4 would be at the direct next month. I bet Metroid prime 4 will be a holiday game for the current switch consoles and later release for the switch 2. If Metroid prime 4 is a switch 2 launch title. I doubt we'll be playing Metroid prime 4 this fiscal year Andres.

I do not agree with you on this one : we will see it at the same time as the Switch 2 reveal. There is no way they will show the inferior version first. Also, launching it with Switch 2 is the best way to shed a light on the serie and make the investment worth it. Mario will come later ( hollyday title ) to boost the sales. Metroid Prime 2 remake for the last quarter of this year. Lock it in.

Haven't we had this subject happen a few times already? Or am I just used to everyone saying that Prime 4 will be in next months direct lol. Again I will say Prime 2 and 3 before Prime 4. Would love to see Prime 2, 3 and 4 all in one direct but that's asking for a lot. As for people saying silly things like is the game in development hell? Sigh, we heard that with Bayo 3 cause we went 5 years without seeing it. Nintendo has said dev time will increase going forward...so we can't just say things are in development hell if 5 years go by and nothing happens lol. I trust Retro more then any other dev.

@@jangofett1172 True enough, but Retro was obviously doing something in the mean time since Tropical Freeze, sadly we will never know. That was like 7 years of being paid to do something that got canned...Though Retro being radio silent is par for the course, it's what they always do and I always respect that about them, they lock themselves inside their studio and don't come out till the game is ready to be shown. They don't even have much of an online social presence lol.

I'm strongly in the Switch 2 launch title camp. Nintendo is spending too much time and money through Retro for Prime 4 to be a swan song for the Switch. Even if Metroid isn't a huge seller (historically, it could change with this new game) for them, it will absolutely be the best showcase of what Switch 2 can do. So even if it only moves say 4 million units, huge for a Metroid game but weak compared to other major Nintendo first-party-IPs, it will drive hype among gamers and boost interest among developers. There are also people behind the scenes saying Prime 4 is Nintendo's push for Metroid to have a "Breath of the Wild moment" and double or triple the historical sales figures for the franchise. If it's really looking that good, they might feel it could be a system seller in its own right.

Many logical observations, but Nintendo does not punch a clock with any of us. So far their directs this year have *NOT* fallen in like with the past few years, have they? So what makes any of us think our applied logic matters at all? What if in June they announced Prime 4 will launch in August? Laugh if you want, but Prime 3 did! September? How about "Coming 2025"? What if it's not shown and during the reveal of the next console, they announce Prime 4 will be exclusive and will launch "when it is ready"? Seem Nintendo has proven themselves to only be somewhat predictable, not completely. I think that's why predicting all of this is in the end a waste of time. It'll launch when it is ready to be launched, and that's about the only constant Nintendo observes.

It might be much more ambitious than the previous titles. Think about something with large open spaces similar to Halo as the rumors were saying. Also, it's Retro that makes it. The graphics have the potential to be jaw dropping. Imagine it also have online multiplayer. It could definitely be a system seller.

Ya'll looking at it from the wrong angle. Maybe Metroid as a franchise hasn't been a high seller in the past. But big budget fps games are. And more than ever people are craving a good fps game amids the garbage the genre is flooded with. If Metroid Prime 4 can be a good fps game while staying Metroid at it's core I think it has some great selling potential.
