Don't give us that nonsense. My second play through of the game after nearly 15 years only took 5 days. Not full days either, because I have one of them 9-5 jobs that you work Mon-Fri. If I play the game again, I'd probably do it in 2-3 days. 1-2 days if I can play the whole day.

36:00 this infinite speed tech is just wild. Friends and I used to play a game called Liero where there were these spike mines you could throw out... But if you throw them inside of the terrain, they would continuously gains peed until they were so fast that when you broke the patch of terrain, they'd all shoot out and just be bouncing everywhere all at once it was wild. We called it the particle accelerator. (Liero is a game just like Worms, but it was honestly cooler and more badass imo.)

But then, at the same time, that sort of attention to detail on the part of Retro Studios is what makes Metroid Prime so great. It's considered one of the best games of all time for a reason

Safety things like that indicate that the Devs had a testing zone that the game would first load into at the beginning where they can give themselves powerups, test acrobatics, models, game functions, etc. In that zone they'd have a way to warp into the beginning of the main game, skipping the tutorial area (likely because the tutorial area wasn't created yet). In this way, the 2nd item loss check was actually the beta game's first check before the Frigate was actually created.

I recently encountered a really weird glitch in the Metroid Prime fight where the boss's animations just started going twice as fast. His attacks came out really quickly and during his phase transition, he would charge at me and turn around really fast too. It went back to normal speed after that. This happened twice in the fight. Has anyone else ever seen that before?

Not a glitch actually! One of Prime Exo's quirks during the fourth round is it can randomly change color phases, charge at you, and also speed up its animations.

1. Technically Meta Ridley is Ridley. The scan logs are pretty clear that it's the same Ridley Smaus defeated in the original game; the Pirates just revived and upgraded him. So whether or not it's a different character is debatable. 2. Actually you could skip x-ray if not for Omega. You don't need it to collect the artifact in Life Grove; all you need is power bombs. It would not, however be faster to skip it if it were possible, since all it would save is a short cutscene at the expense of making the final boss an enormous pain in the ass. Aside from activating Omega Pirate's hitbox, there are--to my knowledge-- no other places where x-ray is strictly required. 4. Miles used it to do a scan dash into the portal for the Impact Crater, saving a little bit of time. 5. It's a bid war in Super Metroid. Killing the animals doesn't necessarily get you yummy food, but it does save the runner(s) from a pointless 26 second detour. 6. When there's a GDQ event going on they broadcast it on Twitch. It's generally on the front page for the entire event.
