ive been wanting to play this for youtube but im always nervous about nintendo doing a copyright attack on me. is there certain conditions you needed to do to post it without issues?

No, there's tons of people who stream/play nothing but Metroid games, specifically speed runners, I'm pretty confident that you playing the game and posting that online falls under fair use. Nintendo used to be pretty insane about that stuff but I think they've softened their stance in more recent years due to the success other development studios have had with working with streamers/content creators.
