Metronome 4/4 Time 100 BPM visual numbers

When recording , so the number 4 suppose to guide you as in when to speak again . I'm a little confused. So should I speak after every 4 seconds ?

Not sure I understand the question, but I will try to answer. In recording, if recording to a metronome or in time so to speak, in 4/4 time there are 4 quarter notes per bar or measure. They all occur equally in time relative to each other, and 4 is the last note before a new bar or measure is then started by the 1.
