Today is March 15, 2021. I met Metronomy in January, and I delved into their music in early February. I listened to every song, every album, at every moment, at every summer afternoon, here, in the southern hemisphere. Unfortunately, the love for something doesn't last forever and their music started to not satisfy me anymore. I just found this song rn, and I feel like this is one of the last sparks that will make the love for this band's music last for a while longer. Thank you Metronomy, you saved me.

Its not The Bay, which is basically Torbay in South Devon (Torquay, Paignton and Brixham). Whitsand Bay is either the one on the Cornwall side of Plymouth, or one on the North Cornwall coast near Bude (personally my favourite surf beach).

Guys, our main focus in this music video are the lights right? Imagine yourselves as the lights for a minute. All those eyes focused on you. The claustrophobic space we've boxed the light with our stares. I'm guessing that's how the musician telling the story felt. Or at least that's my interpretation for the video...Like the lights with all these eyes staring at it. Realize now that the lights are off how we start to see the bigger picture. Sometimes the 'stares' are all in our heads (a closed space) and what is really happening in reality is there is a bigger picture and we aren't necessarily the main focus; the oddball; the distortion; outcast; subject of discussion/gossip/talk, an object for scrutiny.
