It's almost a shame how compressed their dynamic range is. I never heard less than mezzopiano unless muted nor greater than Forte. It limited the colors they were able to project when they aren't willing to go beyond a "pretty" sound. Sorry but brass isn't always pretty. Sometimes it's mean, angry, powerful, on the edge. Sometimes it's a whisper, a faint cry from a far off distance, a plea for your last wish. Also some serious blending issues and lack of micro tuning. But, they do sound pretty. Sometimes timid, but pretty.
