Excellent captures here. Some thoughts from Canada. The sirens are a familiar-to-me North American style, the old nee-nah not used much - although the sound might still be installed in the box. Emergency lighting is poor in my opinion. Especially from the rear. Mind you these are urban police units which could be different from police vehicles used on the Motorways where visibility is very important. The selection of cars used is amazing. Fords, Volvo's, BMW's, Audi's! Where I am from you can spot most unmarked km's away as its always a Ford Taurus or Crown Victoria.

Most unmarked cars have brake light hideaways, but RTPC and other traffic cars have lights hidden on the rear windscreen

The met have got it down, where will live unmarked cars are so obvious, you can see the light bars in the grills, sticky pad ones on the inside of the windscreen, and usually the anpr camera on the roof is a huge giveaway

Proper unmarked cars for covert work you would ever know. These are unmarked but have to have equipment. I agree if you know what you are looking for you will see it. But they have to have the equipment somewhere and are generally used for squads and parked outside the station anyway.

Unlikely to be police, more likely to be NCA... they have flash cars. Around a year ago, I saw two fancy cars, one Jag, and one Maserati, yes, Maserati, blue lighting it past me in a quiet town in South East London. Perhaps a few weeks later, I saw the same Maserati, and Jag, in convoy with another large saloon, a BMW I think blue lighting it past stationary traffic near Sidcup in convoy. Again, highly unlikely to be police, (I'm an officer in the Met), more likely to be NCA. Most of our unmarked cars are either BMW, Vauxhall, Ford or Hyundai.

Quite likely. Met only tend to use unmarked Hyundai's, BMW's and Ford Focuses as Q cars - serving officer.
