I’m personally skeptical of Acuna’s star potential, though I think he can absolutely be a valuable utility component, or even a defense-first asset at 2b or CF. That said, I would not hesitate to trade him for established talent. I know he had a nice few weeks when called up last year, but there are reasons why he was tumbling down prospect rankings. He, simply put, is not on par with the “other” Acuna.

Alvarez needs to work on his mental toughness. He gave away a lot of at bats as did Alonzo.

I genuinely believe Álvarez struggled last year due to fighting through his hand injury. I expect the power to return in ‘25. In fact, I’d wager on 30+ HRs in ‘25. He’s gonna be star, .. sooner than later.

I agree 100% that you don't trade Acuna especially after the numbers he just put up in the Winter League. Cease is a freaking rental and you don't fork over a player like Acuna for him.

No WAY!!! This kid is tearing up winter ball. Sign Burnes on a 4 year 140 million dollar contract. Trade if possible for Castillo. Sign the only reliever worth signing. Wait one year for Vlad. Let’s keep our farm in places they need to be the major leagues and Citi Field!

Lots of great players don’t do anything at the major league level … until they do. Many Mets fans have gone crazy for Acuna over a couple of weeks of great play in the majors. I’d advise caution. There is a reason Acuna was plummeting in rankings as a prospect. Two weeks doesn’t erase that. I like Acuna. But I like Williams too. And guys who can get on base at a .400+ clip, steal bases, and play great defense are valuable. Nobody should sleep on Jett. He’s the #1 position prospect with the Mets for a reason.

Acuna is evaluated as a backup or "2nd division regular" He hit 250 with less than 10 homers and lower OBP in over 400 ABs at AAA..He's an add on for a trade for a guy like Cease after you include Sproat. Sproat and Jett have to go to get an impact player back. Sign Burnes. Holmes,Montas,and Canning aren't doing it. I'd be so frustrated if I were a Met fan.
