Seems like regardless of outcome this year, Stearns will have the opportunity to turn this around quickly. As of now, it seems like we have a decent amount of locked-in pieces with a chance to improve. SPs: Senga Scott Manaea (barring trade) Peterson Butto Sport Tidwell IFs: Alvarez Lindor Vientos Baty Mauricio Acuña OFs: Nimmo Gilbert Taylor I think the core is strong and it will take some overhaul but they can put a good product on the field next year. It’s nice to be pretty solid in the rotation with options and they can focus their attention on the lineup, specifically in the outfield.

Connor what do you think of that ECF performance? Gonna be a LOOOOONG off-season

Biggest Met fan in Canada! Love your podcast. Question: If the Mets end up trading Alonso, why would they only get a top 100 prospect? I would think they could get a solid major leaguer along with a prospect since Pete could, at least somewhat likely, still contribute offensively for a while longer.

Hi guys! Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil! I made the trip to NYC this past week and fulfilled a big dream in watching Mets games at Citi Field (went to two games vs. Dbacks). I went on the Citi Field tour and got surprised (in a bad way 😢) by the team museum, so much history to be suppressed in a tiny room. My question to you is, if you guys could choose one moment in Mets history to have a dedicated space in the museum, which one would be? Thanks!

Great episode guys. Mets just swept the Nats, now we see if they can carry the momentum to London to play the Phils. LGM!

With the big question this month being buy or sell, is there any longer term benefit for opting to stand pat/compete for that wild card spot if there's in a borderline spot? Obvious a long term benefit of selling is continuing to stock up the farm system. Outside keeping it interesting for the fans in the short term of the second half, and I'd of course appreciate that, are there benefits beyond that for a team to compete through September to either miss out or sneak into that last spot with a team that's not built to go deep (such as signaling to free agents you're a team ready/willing to compete)? Or is the upside to selling that much that if it's a borderline decision, they probably should?

Stearns is ruthless - and I'm lowkey fantasizing about the haul that selling anyone not named Alvarez and Scott could yield.

Can the Mets next year have 6 or more players in their lineup with 30+ HR power? It's a stretch but Pete, if he stays, hits 30 in a bad season. Lindor has done it 4 times in the past. Alvarez hit 25 as a 21 year old. JDM is obviously capable and I've seen enough that even if he is dealt at the deadline the Mets need to offer him a fat one year deal for 2025. Vientos looks like he's going to produce in MLB like he did in AA. Biggest stretch may be penciling in Mauricio at second and seeing him produce right away. Weirdly it's the outfield where it is hard imagining anyone hitting 30 unless the Mets land someone. But the lineup has the potential to be good top to bottom. What do you think?

If the pitching staff does wat it did tonight the bullpen would be so much better

Mets go into next year with a cheap rotation - Senga, Megill, Peterson and Scott with a ton of cash coming off the books.

Is Jeff McNeil on his way off this team? Discuss!
@BXMarathoner265 ай бұрын
I think McNeil is gone before the end of the season. Acuna is a better athlete and could provide some SB ability Mets need. Next year with Gilbert and possibly Jett Williams the Mets will be more athletic

They can't hit righties because their left handed hitters stink. Nimmo is coming out of it maybe. Option Stewart and bring up Ben Gamel(.962 OPS in AAA). Gamel is a left handed 32 year old who could DH and pinch hit and play OF/1B. Release Taylor, who his not hitting, is a right handed hitter, and an outfielder. Bring back Baty and platoon him at 2B with Iglesias. Bench McNeil. He can play occasionally in RF/LF or 2B.

First off LGM. Secondly, nimmo’s numbers don't suggest anything to be proud of. Although his baseball-savant page has a ton of red. Xwoba to chase % on his page all red. Fangraphs has his war at 1.4 with a BABIP of .283. I hope, now at the three-hole in the lineup, these numbers translate to a higher batting average, OBP, and slugging. With that in mind, should Nimmo stay in the 3 spot in the lineup?

With an average age of 34, the Mets are going nowhere except to see doctors.

Do you think we could get more than just a bag of balls for Quintana . What about Manaea and his player option, should we have to pay all or most of that ? I also think the way Houser has been pitching out of the bullpen might be worth something to someone? Lmk and keep up the good work guys.

I think it’s a minority of people who groan about these international games, actually. People love the NFL games in the early time slot, disagree with Joe.
