tough loss. feels like most losses in may, june, and july have been because of the pen. could argue mendy should’ve pulled christian earlier but we are coming off of two extra innings games down an arm. oh well, win tomorrow and then go and knock skenes off his pedestal

Diekman threw 4 sliders in a row. 1st 2 were missed. 3rd was fouled off firmly. That’s it. You have to go back to fastball after that. It’s called reading the bat speed. Scotts mistake was also pitch selection. That slider to lefties was asking for trouble all night. His off speed stuff was up all night.

I don't care how much they hit. This is a .500 team with this pitching staff. The starters are today's typical 5 inning pitch count prima donnas so how many lousy relievers can you drag out there every game and still expect to win? BTW why the f*ck wasn't your best catcher playing with a rookie pitcher on the mound instead of 0 for 4 Torrens.
