Couldn’t watch this due to work schedule and the rebroadcast must have been late. Doesn’t look as if Allard’s start was as bad as it looked while following casually, eye on the ticker. I doubt most people were feeling at ease when Walker entered in such a high leverage moment, but he got the job done and for now, where he’s concerned, that’ll have to do. Great to see the next line of guys come off the bench and continue to excel, that’s simply stellar- critical. The bullpen is in good form. Alvarez, is in a better spot for him it seems, and I’m under the assumption he genuinely had something going on in his personal life that needed attention, because since his return, he seems to be a better pitcher, well handled by all concerned in that matter. Right now, Walker and Sanchez are one - two in my lineup heading into the playoffs in terms of performance. Sanchez is the only guy in the Starting lineup who is evolving before our eyes and gaining command. I don’t see how he could be left off the three man roster. Let’s get Bohm, Sosa and Hays back, this is a very tough stretch to end the season.

This game came down to the bullpens. Phillies won because their relievers pitched six scoreless innings, while the Mets bullpen allowed the Phillies to score three times.

Congrats to the Phillies for winning the NL East. The only thing it took was for the entire Braves team to be out for the season. Moral victory I guess
@johnbender493 ай бұрын
As if the Mets aren't also playing good baseball? I hate to see a team have so many injuries but Philly battled many key injuries throughout the season too, and they're staying alive from clutch plays from everyone on the roster at times. A crucial part of success for any professional team is roster depth and being able to overcome adversity. Every sports team faces major injuries every season.
@johnbender493 ай бұрын
Literally in this game, Cal Stevenson is a AAA player that got called up, and scored the tying and go-ahead run, and made a HR saving catch. The Braves don't have that kind of backup play.
