won't skip a beat without McNeil - the team will actually improve with Iglesias playing full time. Great glove, good bat, good speed - great team guy. He turns the DP better than anyone in the league. Quick release, strong and extremely accurate arm.

@@jamesbuckley8917 Gotta give a lot of credit to Stearns. I doubt anyone thought Severino and Manaea would be this successful - I certainly didn’t. He’s also made some sneaky good bullpen moves. Reed Garrett? Never heard of him before this season. Ditto Nunez. Picking up Maton for nothing was a stroke of genius. Winker was a great pick up. Without selling out the future, and despite lots of injuries - Senga, Raley, Reid-Foley, Nunez, McNeil, Marte, etc., etc. - this team is a legit contender. I have enormous faith in Stearns regardless of how this season turns out in the end. Imagine where this team might be if just Senga and Raley were healthy all year. I love this team. And In Stearns I Trust.

Still can't understand how Iglesias was out of Majors for a year and a half. Always a good contact hitter, and a magical glove. The analysts were way off on defense statistics, sometimes seems like they never saw a game played.

Agree. Just last year he hit .292 - in over 100 games - with the Rockies. That nobody wanted him on a MLB contract surprises me. Glad the Mets grabbed him. Hope they bring him back next season.

I never lost faith in Lindor - even great players have slumps. He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer. But I admit that when the Mets bottomed out at 11 under .500, I thought it was a lost season. I’m proud of how this team came back. Regardless of how it ends, I love this team.

He is definitely slumping, though . . . which apparently is related to some nagging injuries. Hopefully he picks it up. If not, I expect we’ll see more of Torrens.
