Nice of Japa to Provide Electric Processor, is the way Forward,

I was excited to just hear the machine work without the engine noise and was disappointed when the music started. I also wonder if you took the pieces you threw out and dropped them in a gas unit if it would split them? Cherry is not that hard of splitting wood and I feel the gas units might have handled them better...Thanks for the videos, Bob!

The pressures and flows are the same, but actually the electric machine has a lot more torque than the gas engine one. Cherry typically isn’t hard to split, but that big one was a bit stringy, and I knew I’d be pushing the limits using an 8 way. I think it would have gone through the 6 way just fine. Also, noted on the music. Soon we want to do a video with this machine filling my dump trailer for winters wood. Will probably do the same like we did last year, no frills no music, just running the machine straight until the trailer is full. Thanks for watching and for the insight Wayne!

A Good way to pick up the sawdust is to use a Stihl leaf vac. I use one for my sawdust then use it for my free range hens.

I'm going to be out in your area in September from the PNW, I would love to drop by and see the processors first hand and pick up a bin of your cherry to take back.

Throughout September, we will be demoing the processors at several trade shows. GLTPA Expo, Northstar Expo, and Paul Bunyan are the shows we will be at.

Beautiful! Can it be converted to 240V two phase, if so how many amps will it take? 🤨🤨🤨

One thing I've noticed on other videos of the Japa, is the knives are of a narrower guage then other machines. I'm quite sure that the 8 way knives are thicker than your 4, and 6 and more. Thicker knife blades create more resistance plus pushing out on the pieces of wood against each other. Check it out. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my words. Otherwise, you have a very, very good machine.

Blade thickness is certainly a factor with the 8-way knife. Like you said, there is less room for the log to exit the knife with the 8-way, which is why larger diameters of hardwood just don't work as well in it when compared to the 4-way or 6-way.

As long as the rpm of the hydraulic pump is the same, it shouldn't make any difference if it is driven by electric, gasoline/diesel or PTO 🙄🤔😉... TRE is 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼! Not sure about "took us long running TRE", it has been around since the the previous century?
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines 11 ай бұрын
It took us long enough is in reference to the fact that we have made several videos saying we wanted to run the TRE on electric instead of PTO in the yard, and this is the first video we’ve done where we ran a power cable out into the yard to do that.

@@MetsaMachines Understood you a little wrong, thought that "The TRE isn't that new..." 🤭🤣. Don't tell anybody 🤫, but in my personal opinion every machine that moves us against electric is a victory. "Listen to the (relative) sound of silence" 👍🏼💪🏼😁...

Sorry look 👀 like need more ton on the splitter for max size logs for a 365 . If sale them tell head office to upgrade the splitter ton 😊.
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines 11 ай бұрын
With the 4-way and 6-way knives, we probably wouldn’t have had any issues. With the 8-way knife you need to be more selective with logs that you process. Increasing the splitter ton would decrease the machine’s overall speed, so you might gain when processing max diameter logs, but you’d lose out when processing the rest. Plus, your best performance with a processor is typically 1-2 inches under max diameter anyways. That’s because you don’t need to worry as much about knots and crooked spots when feeding logs into the machine.

Do you have considerable voltage drop in the power cord? Does it get warm after use? It looks like it does not have enough power to split! 🤨🤨🤨
@MetsaMachines
@MetsaMachines 11 ай бұрын
The performance drop off for that log has to do with the diameter of the log and the fact we were using the 8-way knife. The 8-way knife performs best with straight-grain and softwoods, which is what we always tell customers. That cherry log was neither of those things. That being said, during the colder months, running the processor and warming it up before doing larger logs certainly makes a difference.

Approximately 45.5" x 35.5" x 25.5" for the internal dimensions.
