Shiren, the guy with the headless guitar, has a severe joint disease in his arms and can't hold a guitar for long periods without pain. I think the headless guitar is lighter and he supports with his leg the weight making easier to play. In the last years he uses a pedestal to hold the guitar in place in concert and in MV.

Every time I watch Unlucky Morpheus, I get cracked up by the visual of the bassist Ogawa because of one comment I remember seeing saying he looks like "a regularly dressed dude surrounded by a bunch of Final Fantasy characters". This is one of their older songs from their Touhou days. The song is based on Yuyuko's theme "Border Of Life" from the game "Perfect Cherry Blossom" (link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJrWY4eqrcl5oLM ). If you want to see the rest of that bass (lets call it a "solo") you need to watch "Dead Leaves Rising". Also, it may contain something you may have never seen a band do before. The bass is an ESP E-II 5 string bass, it maybe customised for the fanned frets. Also, the bassist, Ogawa, is really a jazz musician and was the protégé of Mikio Fujioka (Ko-Gami), you may know from Babymetals Kami band. As far as I know Jinya plays this song in standard tuning.

I wrote it under your CADAVER reaction, too (not a accusation, I'd forget 98% of the comments I read if I'd do a reaction channel ;)). Shiren uses a Strandberg Boden. As does Leda from BABYMETAL's Kami Band. I think both use the 7-strings of this series. Strandberg is a Swedish company. Strangely enough both of them aren't listed on their artists page, so I don't know if they just like the guitars or if they're endorsed by them. And funnily enough, both used ESP guitars before changing to Standberg.

Shiren's tenosynovitis is why he uses that headless guitar due to it being lighter and causing less pain. The bassist Ogawa started out as a jazz bassist and is still in a jazz band on the side.
