Boomerang anyone? After they dumped those classic bumpers, and only started showing newer cartoons, I stopped watching them, and now the channel doesn't even exist anymore. MeTV is great, and I'm glad that are doing this.

Boomerang went to broadcasting modern content about 10 years ago. Since then, we've not had a classic cartoon broadcast channel. 20 years ago, we had to subscribe to the premium Dish network package to get that channel. Now, we're going to be able to get that kind of content for free with just a digital antenna. I think it's the best news I've heard in a long time and I'm all for it.

Keep the Cartoon Network original crap where it belongs, that is what started the downfall of Boomerang. Boomerang would rotate classic cartoons in and out every few months, but after awhile they became a zombie channel, never changing the lineup, but slowly adding CN original crap as time went on, eventually becoming just the junk they made. I'd rather see the classic Looney Tunes (and the earlier Merry Melodies stuff), the Hanna Barbera stuff of the 60's to the 90's, Popeye and Betty Boop (the Fleischer stuff basically), stuff like Felix the Cat from early in his lifetime, to his 50's stuff, to his 1990's cartoons, to classic Woody Woodpecker, Garfield and Friends, and even Filmation stuff (He-Man, She-ra, Bravestarr to name a few). Hell I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of 80's and early 90's CBS, ABC, and NBC cartoons that maybe lasted a season either by choice, or by being a flop. Hell anything from the 20's, to the 90's, I'd love MeTV Toons to run. Just hoping they cycle in and out cartoons on the regular, keeping the lineup fresh, just like early Boomerang, and why Boomerang at the beginning was so invaluable as a classic cartoon channel before it went to shit.

The KZbinr "Antenna Man" actually had a interview with one of the heads of METV Toons about this in more details than what was on the promo/site including not only the date of the first broadcast (it's June 26 2024), but also a link to a list of all the current "Over The Air" TV station broadcasters that have currently agreed to host the channel meaning no need for streaming nor cable to watch it in some areas (there is streaming too for the other areas).

Battle of the Planets/G-Force I doubt will air since Sandy Frank productions had long lost the rights to dub Gatchaman, but I would love to see Gigantor and 8th Man on the channel (maybe they will have the late-night hours be for cartoons and anime that have content that would be considered politically incorrect nowadays).

Since Scooby Doo and Josie and The Pussycats are going to air on MeTV Toons, I hope they air the other Scooby "Clones". Especially Speed Buggy and Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids! I'm also hoping they air The Snorks. I loved The Snorks just as much as The Smurfs and I really hope MeTV Toons has both. Maybe they can even import vintage British cartoons like the OG Bob The Builder, OG Fireman Sam, OG Danger Mouse, and maybe even more obscure ones like Engie Benjy.

Haven't had cable in a long while now, can't say I miss CN, or Boomerang. MeTV has stuck by their guns when it comes to classic TV shows (along here with Antenna TV) this long without doing stupid shit, I'm sure that formula will stick with their cartoon channel.

MeTV took over where WFLD 32 left off. Many of these cartoons I grew up with on WFLD (Speed Racer, Poppeye, Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry, etc) Nice to see the classics still playing! How about Fat Albert???? Space Angel??? Felix the Cat??? Tennessee Tuxedo???

Hope thay air some Rankin and Bass. Thay made lots of Saturday morning cartoons as well, not just the Christmas specials that there associated with. The one I remember most is The reluctant dragon & the Mr. Toad show & Tom foolery. Thay my be owned by other companies and my not air on Me TV. We can only hope thay do! It would be nice to see a childhood memory again!

On the existing MeTV channel it looks like they're showing them approximately 15:9 (very narrow black bars on the sides). I don't know if they stretched or cropped the original picture (or both).

I think personally the old school tiny toons would be awesome because I never got to see those episodes and would love to start the series especially since oddly enough we don't have a re-release complete set of that yet I know we are getting a Powerpuff girls complete series I think this month as far as DVD releases go

This is almost an identical experience to what I had in the early mid-90s when Cartoon Network came to town. They first previewed it to us by taking over Channel 6 which was our Spanish-speaking Channel. It lived there until it was moved to live next to VH1 MTV and Nickelodeon. I receive me TV now with my over-the-air antenna, so I'm hoping I get this channel often because this is awesome

To answer your question, I would want a show like wait till your father gets home, because that's one of those rare cartoons that I first saw on Cartoon Network before they only focused on their own original cartoons, like Johnny Bravo, so it's funny that you mentioned Johnny Bravo because I feel like that's not old enough, but I guess them giving me 1970s cartoons is the same experience, so yes I guess it's time. Just sometimes I feel like we need an old Nickelodeon channel and all they want to keep giving us is iCarly and I'm so sick of them not caring.

Having watched Metv for some time, it was always weird to me that they only showed cartoons for about an hour then played western shows for the rest of the day on weekdays. I’m glad that they decided to make another channel…

This is spot on and I'm so very excited that finally we're bringing real cartoons on this MeTV network compared to educational television in no disrespect but we need to get back to the basics in great old school reality cartoons that we grew up on. Business is about to pickup. I would like to see Thunder cats, GI Joe, Transformers and He Man to be on the spotlight plus, Thunderbirds too. Something to think about. But for now thank you for the new lineup. Looking forward to it.
