Hi Drapple, thanks so much for taking the time to make this and run your own tests, I always encourage people to test things themselves so you immediately gained my respect there. I did find several inconsistencies with the tests and numbers here that I wanted to comment on, not as a "gotcha" but just some things I think are worth mentioning. There's a ton of different variables and factors that have to be accounted for, especially in this particular case of comparing Weapon/Skill to Weapon/Skill instead of just 1 to 1. I get stuff wrong too, everybody does. Anyways to point a few things out: 1. Your test is conducted on Pyromaniac which obviously would favor chill damage (Skill Power) over weapon damage. But I also did notice your numbers on Pyromaniac are extremely low compared to mine. I went back and tested on Pyromaniac and my skill portion of Zenith (assuming no Dangerous Ambush) is hitting for 6.1 million damage a pop. Yours is showing 2.1million which heavily skews the results of the test. Then I noticed you are not using a Reactor which is going to very heavily deflate the actual damage advantage of the Perforator setup. This would be because the Perforator benefits from 3 extra shots. As for the boss to test on, I'd definitely suggest Executioner because it has equal chill resist to defense. 2. You did show the time it takes for shots between the Perforator setup and min maxing the sniper setup. This is done with 7 bullets as opposed to 8. It's a small little thing but having 8 will actually bring the time of those already very close numbers you got even closer. Also realistically most people are not going to be firing even that quickly when aiming at Weakpoints for 100% accuracy unless the boss is staggered. If the boss is staggered, we would need to account for Dangerous Ambush as well. 3. Dangerous Ambush actually ends up having a huge impact on the damage of the Perforator setup when considering the total amount of damage, but this is independent to each boss encounter and not something you can perfectly account for. Based on my personal experience, I will usually get anywhere from 1-5 shots in group encounters that benefit from the 25% skill power of Dangerous Ambush (again, just dependent on your team, the encounter, boss aggro etc). After that it would just depend if a teammate grapples a wekapoint, or in many cases the boss is staggered. In the case that the boss is staggered (which happens in basically every group run where you're trying to do a boss burn), you are getting 3 extra shots benefitting also from Dangerous Ambush at 50% extra damage. I would say this is closer to 2 extra over the sniper because the boss may get staggered 1 shot sooner from your extra weapon damage. Again this is all variable to the boss encounter so hard to actually represent with numbers because of all the assumptions that have to be made. 4. Some of the mod choices here are not the best for the Perforator's damage output in the case you are trying to min max it but I won't go into that really because while you can min max, like you said, the difference isn't too huge unless you're really prioritizing weakpoints and load it with weakpoint damage. 5. Sorry I forgot this in my original writeup but boss crit hit resist on Firearm is noticeably higher than their resist to Skill Crit Hit Rate (Minus Gluttony, where you would use a gun build with Greg's/EL). This will also favor the Perforator setup quite substantially, although I unfortunately don't know the exact %s on the resists. Much love for making this regardless of anything I wrote above. I appreciate that you're super respectful and level-headed and I appreciate you taking the time to run your owns tests and do your own analysis. As I said, you have nothing but my respect and I'll be subbing to check out more of your future content.

Not really. Lots of people already had PL built for Sniper Sharen. But the biggest reason is theoretical damage. If you hit all crits, all shots, the overall TTK is going to be lower for PL. You can much easier break points with PL per shot than Perf, leading to easier downs. If you're downing the Colossi near instantly, it doesn't matter if you're firing 6 shots or 60, it's going to die before it can enrage. For 99% of the community, Perf is going to be better because PL needs weak point shots to be effective.

Nobody regrets, quit assuming 😂 I'm perfectly fine with my Piercing Light, won't even bother farming perforator. And no one's using these builds for group play, it's mainly just solo, and for that you can literally use any of the builds. PL and AG builds are just going to kill faster than Perforator by a few seconds. Y'all making it seem like it's the next best thing in life 😂

You tested on an enemy weak to your chill. Literally any other enemie in the game, the weapon damage means a lot more. Because you’re losing a big chunk of the frost skill dmg. Even factor in defense debuffs or bosses that take more weapon dmg.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@stamatispiou13 The conclusion to the entire video is that the Perf setup is more focused on skill damage, and less on weapon damage. All testing was done on a boss weak to chill. Any other boss in the game (except fortress, obv), the PL/AG will come out much further ahead with more of the damage coming from the weapon itself vs banking everything on chill damage.

This is the way. Variety is the spice of life. In longer fights, perf allows you to get 4 shots off, put Zenith away, and have it right back in a few seconds

Keep in mind, to get 8 shots on a sniper, you must have a max roll of 12% ammo rounds, which can be very expensive to roll for.

Unless I am missing something obvious, which could be the case, a weaker reactor, skews the results, to favor the snipers. The, percent, damage difference between perf and sniper's, does not change by improving the reactor. However, the, total, skill damage difference, between perf and snipers, would be bigger, with a better reactor. Also why I am watching this? I have never used Hailey. Good video though, you clearly worked hard, on it.

Should test it again on a colossus that isn’t weak to chill damage. It skews the numbers in favor of the skill damage portion of Hailey’s damage. Which gives perforator a big advantage in this test if the 2.5x multiplier targets weak to chill is true.

I want to preface this with the fact i don’t own hailey which is why i can’t guarantee if any of this works. i don’t play hailey so i’m not sure how much shots extra you could get with this if any at all, but you could run firing fiesta on a pistol( red wolf has lowest reload at 1.05 seconds, along with pistols having fastest weapon change speed), built with weapon change speed and even if it nets only one more shot that can bring snipers from 8-9 and perf from 11-12 Technically if this works you could use it on perforator too, you would just have to make sure you dont hit weakpoint until buff runs out, because firing fiesta, spray and pray, and payout all are the same buff “no ammo consumption” Next comes with the fire rate coming into play. If a good significant chunk of your dps is coming from skill damage and your weapon fire rate comes into play, then theoretically instead of using the perforator you could use the he impact round with the highest fire rate, or a fire rate high enough to net a possible extra shot from firing fiesta further increasing dps. Last i want to address the small group of people who are going to assume this is a bug and is going to get patched. I said before but the devs handpick which mods work with unique weapons and which don’t, if you want proof of this why does pay out work with weakpoint hits on hailey but real life fighter doesn’t? they both say on hitting weakpoints, same goes with firing fiesta buff persisting when you swap weapons, but spray and pray buff goes away when you swap weapons despite even being the same buff. This was intended to be a tool for players by the devs

For me it depends on the content. For Colossi, I open up with the third as countdown happens and grapple to the stairs or pillars since by the time I land I've recovered the 3 stacks I lost from that action. Then I use the fourth and wait for Colossi to become damageable. Once it's downed, I use the first to add on Cryo Rounds. Depending on how long the fight goes for and rather or not I have my fourth back up, I'd use first then second afterwards. For dungeons it's nearly the same and depends on the immune mechanic. Start with third, then if it's a boss that uses the balls I use my fourth to phase, second to pop balls, then reenter my fourth. If it's one that summons adds, I use my first to target them, shoot the remaining, then reenter my fourth.

Don't need to invest in gun if you can find bullet damage on 0 pdef enemies in laboratory (middle guys at 1lvl) and then check your damage at colossus (if it's green number - imagine that this is 110% damage and substract then 10%). Calculate percentage difference - it's will be boss pdef. Then you can calculate desired bullet damage with mods by yourself or can use dps calculator. Also it was bad idea to not use damage boosting reactor in calculations.

When it comes to the immediate come bullet in the summary, I’m able to make all bosses weak points up to molten fortress(haven’t tried gluttony yet) yellow within a few shots so a teammate can immediate grapple them and then you pop off the rest for a lot of damage. I have no clue if the perf can do that but someone test it out

I have the piercing light sniper and I tried the build with Nazeistras and Nazeistras was way better than the sniper. Im not going to overinvest on a sniper when I can have similar results with Nazeistras, which is better for group colossus than a sniper. Also Nazeistras I have Nazeistras full copies with golden attributes, Nazeistra is good for all kind of content, sniper not have less ammo I only have a copy of the gun.

Test it on another colossus that is neutral or even strong again chill. Was the damage from Cryo factored in? For sustain dmg situation, why sit in ult for 3 seconds longer when we can build CD and HP/DEF/RES/Immunity and go into zenith again 3s earlier?

if you take this route a trick i would recommend you do is run a nazeistra with real life fighter, that way during zenith downtime you build up the 10 stacks and when you go back to zenith your first shot will have real life fighter and weak point expansion applied

A word of warning. The devs have been very intent on fixing "problems" where mods/ guns/ Descendants are not working as intended. A sniper using a revolver to make skill less body shot spam, was clearly not intended. The chances of this mod interaction with Haleys skill getting patched is very high. I wouldn't spend a week trying to farm a reactor, or build out a Perforator for this exploit.
