Mevo Multicam App NDI test

Testing out the Mevo Multicam App Pro feature NDI. I am a fan of using NDI when every possible and was excited to find out Mevo now could bring in NDI devices, Will most NDI devices had an issue when I tried to bring in other productions like ECAMM Live or OBS. #ecammlive #ecammfam #mevocamera

I was having the "Unsupported NDI" error as will trying to connect my PTZ NDI camera to Mevo Multicam. I finally got it to work when I made sure I was not sending "Full NDI" and also changed the output codec to H.265. When my camera was sending H.264 on iOS, I just got a black or green screen. I also thought that I needed to turn on NDI by selecting the "Full NDI" check box, when in fact, that switches you over to an incompatible high bandwidth flavor of NDI and thus the "Unsupported" error. The camera I'm using is the same as all the PTZOptics/AVKANS/SMATV PTZs.

Haha yes. Mevo has made a lot of upgrades and feel the are the best all in one system for basic streaming

Yes using the Picture in Picture feature. Not easy that I know of but yes it can be done.

Did you have to pay for mevo pro to get all the cameras to work using NDI? Because I can only get 2 of my 3 working

You shouldn’t need Mevo Pro for Mevo cameras. All 3 of my Mevo Starts just worked. The Mevo Pro was for me to bring in any non Mevo NDI Cameras

@@BasicNAS so all of the cameras I am using are the osbot tail air cameras. I have the NDIs and cameras connected but 1 of the 3 aren't showing any picture, so of I pay for mevo pro it should correct the issue ?

@@YoungWiZdomim confused as if you are trying to use Obsbot tail air with the Mevo Multicam app none should work with out Mevo Pro. Maybe im missing part of your setup?

@@YoungWiZdom seems strange as im assuming you do not have pro. my understanding is you need pro if the cameras are not Mevo. Unless something changed

Hi I'm testing the NDI with the multicam app too. When I try to bring in my Windows 11 desktop I also get that similar message with unsupported NDI format Speed HQ.I don't see anywhere in laptop to turn it on HEVC/H.264? Not sure if I need to download a HEVC/H.264 codec? Everything else works fine. I will go with the Pro if I could get it to work. If the codec doesn't work, I'll have to contact Logitech. I did open a ticket and they mentioned using NDI tools to screen capture the screen of a second monitor with only my production. I think for your can if it is just the whole desktop it may also work for you? My phone hack do work well but I was hoping it would have just worked with my broadcast software

That's the way I did it. It shows up in multicam but when I connect that message shows up. Does it work for you that way? Thank you for the reply

I have not tested it yet. Will test tomorrow after my live guest spot on another channel. I’ll work on a new video as an update to this one. Really like the Mevos and a lot of what they offer but this one thing is really bugging me. Never seen the NDI error before and can’t find info on it yet.

Thank you! Yeh I like the Mevo a lot. I can't wait for next version for improvement in digital zoom quality. I love to use the save static shots. Nothing like it. Too bad it is just offered in Mevo app not Multicam. My work around is bringing the mevo camera in with NDI. Cool thanks@@BasicNAS

I found out what I did wrong. You need to use the screen capture HX instead of regular screen capture. I didn't realize that you need to select it in NDI tools. When you go to choose screen capture you need to go to the cog(star looking thing upper right) It shows the regular screen capture and screen capture HX. Just choose the screen capture HX. It now shows up in multicam with no issues. The only thing now is when I bring the multicam back to laptop with mevo webcam app the quality really looks bad and lag. I did'nt join Pro yet and wondering if using NDI output with using NDI tools webcam should have better quality? The option for output is not available until I register. I use it this way with the regular mevo app an it's fine. Have you tried it? Thank you again and nice channel.

This emeet cam one doesn’t have NDI so no it can not be used with the Mevo Multicam app. Mevo Multicam app only works with Mevo cameras. If you have the Mevo pro subscription you can use smart phones with Mevo go app and any device with NDI|HX.
