In Japan arranged marriages are common even to grade schoolers. They would have to wait to marry but courting would be something that would happen up until the date set. It’s way less common now and mostly happened in noble or royal families in history.

I feel like the manga did a better job of handling the ships. Like, I get really mixed emotions from Kish/Dren/Kisshu. One minute he likes Ichigo and the next he’s trying to kill her. And Tart/Taruto/Tarb and Pudding had a lot of a bigger ship. But then again i haven’t watched all of the anime so..

I know right? The anime sort of seems to forget in the middle episodes that Quiche is in love with Ichigo. I prefer the manga in that respect for being more logical with the whole Quiche/Ichigo thing, with Quiche actually declaring his love for Ichigo multiple times and the ship having an actual arc. I guess they didn't want the audience of the anime to ship Quiche/Ichigo so hard, but turns out they didn't succeed with that. 😏
