I mean, the NEXT time he died the boy had an entire stadium full of pokemon all crying at him. What if the pikachu tears didn't have any magical properties at all, but seeing a pokemon cry just gave him enough motivation to crawl back into his corpse again. For no other reason than to make the crying stop.

Literally all of them. Every pokemon that is capable of reproducing, does so via eggs. There are rare exceptions for pokemon that aren't naturally spawned (Ninjask and that whole 'dead skin becoming a ghost, and a seperate pokemon entirely) thing, or that one rock that's secretly 108 people sacrificed in a single horrific event so that all their souls merge together into a blob of soulstuff that then becomes a pokemon. But that's more genesis than reproduction, and it's usually the ghost types that have this weirdness. All legendaries are in the "Undiscovered" egg group, and have no known method of reproduction. Mew and Mewtwo giving live birth is something that /could/ reasonably take place, especially if the conditions for it are rare, unusual, and difficult to make happen in a laboratory setting. And it sort of makes sense given that mew is somehow the common ancestor to all pokemon, including arceus. Which gets extra weird when like ... Arceus made the universe, but Mew made Arceus.
