Fantastic video. As a Mexican and from Aztec descent myself, I wasn't offended at your pronunciation at all! You speak English and I don't expect you to speak with a Spanish accent. Well done! Keep playing games!

You made a mistake at 10:02 , those bridges are actually connected, you can not really reach it through the canal,but you can if you go into the lake and then into the other canal. Very good explanation and diction, quite clear and easy for non-native to understand your video.
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
Hey Murilo, those bridges aren't actually connected, because you'd first have to travel to the bridge on the right, and THEN you could travel from that bridge through the lake to the other bridge. See what I mean? The two bridges I discuss at 10:02 are not directly connected, as their rivers are not connected at that corner, and if you travel to the right, you instead hit another bridge. Hope that helps.
@MuriloFlavioMoreira3 жыл бұрын
@@WatchItPlayed I see your point, but you said that "they are not connected", ok, they are not immediately connect using one action point, but they are connected in a broader sense as long as you pay the price, like the other bridges you traveled to in your explanation. I have put myself in the shoes of someone who is watching your video and has many doubts about the rules. I guess it got kind of ambiguous the interpretation.
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
@@MuriloFlavioMoreira Yes, at that point I was speaking of connections in terms of direct connections. You are correct, that if you spend additional points, you can create a path that eventually gets you around to that other bridge as well. Either way, I'd say I'd sounds like you have a good handle on the rules - thanks for checking out the video and have fun playing!

10:00 Aren't these bridges connected by the lake, even if not by the canal directly?
@WatchItPlayed9 жыл бұрын

Yes, I wish I had done better research on that. It's something I try to be more aware of these days.

15:14 there are 4 bridges ( 2 of them lower right) with steps leading directly into water. Is this correct?
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
I shot that awhile ago, but my guess is that I had quickly set a few pieces on the board, just to show the game further along, and failed to correctly set those bridges. Sorry for any confusion.

The game looks good. Only like a corious, I, like a mexican, can say the pronunciation is : me (the sound of the pronunciation of the english word he) ca. And for general culture, the lake in when the city was build, is Texcoco lake. salutes.

if 15:26, wait, bridges going into water? Were these placed randomly, or are you telling us you can ruin a bridge by placing water on the opposite side?
@WatchItPlayed9 жыл бұрын
+David Davison As indicated in the video, you cannot place canals on either space adjacent to bridge ramps - what you are seeing at 15:26 is an unfortunate oversight on my part as I attempted to illustrate the game near the end (by placing components quickly onto the board). I overlooked how that would effect some of the bridges I had previously placed in the demonstration. In a game, those situations could not happen if players follow the rules. Apologies for any confusion.

One remaining question, can you jump on bridges from the side?l from land? Like if the bridge was on a corner of a canal, or can you only enter bridges from the front and back?
@WatchItPlayed7 жыл бұрын
Movement in the game is always orthogonal, never diagonal (and you'd have to move onto the bridge from one of it's sides that down the land) Hope that helps!

Can I use the Emperor's Palace to help to create or divide areas, like I use the canals?

Just found and bought this game still in shrink rap. We played it and had one question. In a three spot district if a player is on one space puts a district tile on another and builds a temple on the other. How could someone else get points? Even though the district tile has 3 2 and 1 pts on it.
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brad, I do my very best to help with the rules questions, but I shot this long enough ago that I don't remember the rules to this one as clearly, and I lent my copy to a friend, so I can't easily look up in the rule book for you.

In the event that the emperor demands two districts of the same size say size 4. If I were to carve a district of size 4, are both tokens placed in the one district, or do I need to build a second district for the second token to count.
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that you'd need to carve out a second district.

Since the games about the people of Tenochtitlan, should it not be pronounced May-shee-ca, as per en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexica - sorry it just bothered me every time you said the name as if it were just like Mexico.
