This brought tears to my eyes. I'm from Afghanistan and I worked with the US Army as an interpreter for 14 years. After the US pulled out some units of their troops in 2014, my family and I were threatened by the adversaries we fought against. My children couldn't attend school, and I couldn't find independent work. I stopped working with the US Army in 2015, and they helped us relocate to the US in 2019. I've been working as a janitor at the same school my children attend. Unfortunately, my children sometimes face bullying and ridicule because of my job, which deeply troubles me. I wish that no child or person would ever have to experience bullying or harassmegnt.
