I’ve eaten at red lobster for 35+ years. It’s my husband’s favorite. It used to be really good but the price has gone up and the quality down. I love to watch the ladies try different foods!

She hated most all American restaurants, and was super picky about Mexican cuisine offered here in Los Angeles.

Red Lobster was never very good. Living in California it was hard to get interested in it because at least on the coast there were so many good local seafood restaurants that had fresh catch and knew how to prepare it.

Yea I’m pretty sure anyone who lives in a coastal area wouldn’t choose to eat at Red Lobster. I’ve only eaten there when in landlocked towns where it was kind of the only seafood option.

You need to to go to Olive Garden! Crispy stuff is impossible to get with take out on plastic containers. Love that the roles were reversed..the person who normally hated everything loved everything and the person who always says YUM! Was saying BAD😂 Love you ladies! When I was a kid, Red Lobster is the household name of seafood. The reason why they're closing down is because the taste of the food they make is not the same anymore. RIP Red Lobster. I'll miss you.

I’m glad they had the ladies try Red Lobster. I lived in one of the beach communities that had a fresh fish market and then moved to middle America. I respect your opinions on most of your taste tests, so was really looking forward to this one! It’s pretty sad that a restaurant has catered to folks for this long and the food is just short of disgusting, and in my opinion overpriced. I went one time and really couldn’t eat anything with exception of the biscuits after slathering them with (fake) butter. So glad you pretty much had the same opinion. Thanks!

I was from the Midwest, and it was always really expensive for us in the 70s and 80s. Now I live on the east coast, and it's very cheap here. But it really depends on how they prepare it; just boiled with butter all over it eventually makes me sick, because my stomach can't handle all of that butter. The salad is good on a roll

This is me exactly. Because my parents never were the type to go out to eat, I missed out on trying a lot of fast food and restaurant quality at the time period (2000s-2010s). Fast forward a few years ago, I went to Red Lobster with a friend for the first time and I was so underwhelmed. It was kind of disappointing, the menu and quality didn’t look like what I remembered seeing on tv commercials back then. 😕

I had it once just because theres so many better food options in my city. Its the same as Olive garden, applebees, Chilis, etc. Not bad but not great. You get what you expect. Theyre not absolute garbage like some people say they are

That’s because they need to be at the restaurant where it’s hot and fresh out of the kitchen, just like they did last year with the Indian food. Ain’t no telling how long of a drive it took them to get the food and come back. Red lobster is actually very good.

Theyre not closing all restaurants filing for bankruptcy doesn’t mean out of business, it’s so they can make changes. They said it in a letter through email to their customers.They’ve only closed select locations that probably weren’t bringing in much business

Panera can’t figure out what rotted cilantro looks like. No matter how many times I have mentioned it, they shrug their shoulders, say it’s fresh, and put black cilantro in the menu items (that are part of their recipe). I haven’t been to Macaroni Grill.

Red Lobsters always gets a bad wrap, but, Ive enjoyed my food every single time Ive gone.. My only critique would be the lobster tails are too tiny for the price, but the endless shrimp and shrimp feast always gets the job done for me

It along with a few other investors, Thai Union Group bought the remaining equity in Red Lobster from GGC, making it full owner of the chain In May 2024, Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, announced the closure of at least 99 locations, and Thai Union issued the following statement: “After detailed analysis, we have determined that Red Lobster’s ongoing financial requirements no longer align with our capital allocation priorities and therefore are pursuing an exit of our minority investment.”

I always loved the Parrot Isle coconut shrimp, the first thing I ever tried at a Red Lobster as a kid. I thought it was the bougiest flavor combo on earth, fuckin coconut flakes on fried shrimp lol. No other places were doing that piña colada dipping sauce either, and I was all over it. That shrimp consistently stayed delicious, and I wish I could say only go there for it. But after this vid I am scared to find out how it really is now 😂

I recently tried red lobster for the second time. 1st time I was high as a kite and drunk so couldn't tell you what I had or if it was good. After 3-4yrs/ a week ago I went back since my fiance wanted to try it. 😳😮‍💨 The biscuits weren't that great I don't get the hype. Everything was expensive and as you can see in the video so small. We ended up getting the fish and chips. For the price and for what we got it was definitely not worth it and I can see why they're slowly going out of business.

Agreed. I also love the fact that Xóchitl is the only one speaking the most Spanish. Like, nothing wrong with the other two speaking mostly English, it just doesn’t add that ‘Mamah’ quality. I prefer the videos with just Xóchitl, Lucy and Martha in them. They have the most positive reactions.

They went crazy and got into trouble money-wise with their all you can eat shrimp fest They put them in the hole big time I had to declare bankruptcy but the good thing is there's still a lot of open they're just closing a lot of underperforming stores. The parent company then sold the land back to Red Lobster with a steep markup while also increasing supply cost among other things. What's happening is the same thing that happened to smaller businesses you no longer see.The mega corporations have figured out that its cheaper just milk a smaller company for a massive ammount of money up front until they flop and then just buy the land back again to sell at a higher price to the next unsuspecting sacrificial lamb.

Red Lobster is complicated. They got sold to a company that didn't care about quality and only wanted to make money - that company contracted with a sub par seafood provider (because cheaper seafood purchased means more profit for the company) and when they were done wringing all the money they could get out of RL, they sold the company to the same seafood provider! that's why they're done....because they got run into the ground for profit. what a damn shame.
