Ciudad del Maiz (City of Corn in English) is an interesting city/town for me. This is a city/town we seeked refuge, LOL. After leaving our last location 'Media Luna Lagoon', by the time we got to Ciudad Del Maiz, the roads were getting darker without street lights. Although it was another hour to get to our final destination for the day. we decided to put up a night at a local hotel. We all know that it is advisable not to drive at night on Mexico roads.
Much to our horror, when we heard from the owner of the hotel that, indeed that stretch of road is a dangerous road to travel at night and 14 people from the Jalisco Cartel were killed by the local police when they tried to enter the city/town. Phew! Just imagine that, if we had traveled a night before.
Although, after hearing all the horror stories and I had a great sense of fear for this city/town and my perception changed completely the next day. Oh my, Ciudad Del Maiz is such a lovely city/town and I wished I had more time to explore.

I lived my childhood in CD del Maiz and I have many memories of the Castro family, especially Juan Carlos (RIP) we were schoolmates, I also met Isidro and his parents, they were part of my childhood...it gave me Nice to see Isidro.

@@chewconnie Juan Carlos is Isidro's younger brother, he was my schoolmate and my great friend, his life was difficult and he died young, every time I visited cd del maiz I looked for him in the streets of the town and we talked, he was a friend whom I I loved a lot, we were adventure companions, walks and coexistence, an excellent person...and friend. And, yes, Isidro think is the owner

Miss the old days 2006 to 2000 . Best years . Everything was open , those tortas was bomb at 11 p.m , but she passed away cuz of those .

Nosotros también nos quedamos asombrados cuando vimos la Ciudad del Maíz. También teníamos curiosidad por saber si allí se cultivan muchos maíz.😂😂😂

Es un pueblo con mucho historia está rodeado de rancherías es Fasil entender que los arrieros de antaño llegaban al pueblo con su maíz si se sigue sembrando maíz si y otros productos de temporada en su momento y de Lli el nombre original Valle del maíz.
