Hal, I retired from the US Military, Marines [4 years] and Army [16 years]. I would be interested in you sharing some reflections about your time working for the US Prison System.

I was meaning to mention, if you haven’t read it yet, check out “Two Years Before the Mast” by Richard Henry Dana. Non fiction about Dana who spent 2 years sailing the same route you are in the 1830’s when Mexico still owned California. Might make for some interesting reading during down time.

Thank you for the recommendation. Alicia is an avid reader!

@@sailingtashi my pleasure.😊Stay safe in Mexico. BTW, are you guys planning to come back the same way or are you circumnavigating? Coming back is “uphill” is why I ask.

@@dustinwilton5343 we are not planning to head that far north again. We plan to end up on the other side of the US eventually. ☺️

Fun! Which marina did you stay at in Ensenada? Pro/cons?
@sailingtashi Жыл бұрын
We will give details in our next video. But we stayed at Baja Naval. Very tight spaces but they were accommodating.

@@sailingtashi we are heading there during the next weather window. hence asking for the details early. :)

@@christiepooh it’s a really great place to check in to Mexico. All of the marinas help with the process. It only took about an hour and we were good to go!

If you’re are interested Alicia does a really nice tour of the boat in episode 4. I believe the title is “Life on a Boat after life behind bars”. I know the title doesn’t seem to match the contents of the video but it does once you watch it. 👍🏻

@@haroldhettema1909 thanks. I’m familiar with the boat. I’ve owned 3. My sailing area was Florida and Bahamas. But because I live in Oregon I’ve always been curious about making the journey you are on. Where did you start your journey?
@haroldhettema1909 Жыл бұрын
We started the journey up in the Sacramento Delta. Spent a year preparing the boat there and then hit the Pacific Ocean heading south from the San Francisco Bay Area. We are now in La Paz Mexico. The videos are a little behind.
