?? I thought you said you were going to list the 3 best beaches. I just saw you walking, complaining about the seaweed, the safety issue and everything you hated about the beaches. I never saw the top 3. I like the beach at Royal Hideaway in Playacar. The resort is great too.

Hey there! Pretty sure I explained it in the video, but yeah so the top three beaches are each gonna be a separate video. This first one is all the way from center of town to the far south end, so you get to see ALL that. RAW. Next one is the opposite direction, and third is the “best beach” that you have to drive 10 min or so to get to. If you’re looking for an advertisement for playa del carmen resorts, this isn’t the channel for you, this is an honest opinion and not gonna hide the fact that smelly seaweed isn’t worth paying $500 a night. And by the way, regarding safety, after I left the final beach in this video became even more dangerous. Guys with machetes now hide in the woods and rob people at that nude beach. I’m sorry to see that you didn’t notice that I talked about both the good AND the bad, but I have noticed some people are really sensitive and say things like “you hated everything” if you criticize something. But isn’t that a bit kindergarten? I dunno, I’m not one of those people that puts out fluff. I don’t know the Royal Hideaway but some of the resorts in Playacar are nice and the beaches are pretty nice too, except for the seaweed. This little series I started in Holbox and then Playa del Carmen and then I go to some more out the way “secret” places further south. If you stick around, which I hope you do as you learn to appreciate my honesty and fairness, you’ll see that towards the end of the “mini-series” the places get more and more magical. I’ve been going to playa del carmen now for over ten years. Plug your ears if you want roses, but Truth is, I think due to seaweed, rising crime, and rising prices, it’s kind of past it’s prime.

Hey Toby where did u stay? Any recommendations??

Hey Brandon! I stayed in an airbnb off 30th avenida and not far from calle 2. Was perfect really. But if you’re looking for a place closer to or on the beach you’ll have to pay hundreds per night. And check the seaweed reports, it’s often worse in summer.

Possibility of being robbed in fucking US cities is higher. Maybe stay at home if you feel scared at touristic place at the beach😂

Nah. But I go by facts and credible sources, not emotions, my friend. I speak about the dangers of Los Angeles as well. Not sure why you feel the need to compare, why can’t we just be honest about each place? The possibility of robbery by police or criminals in Playa del Carmen is, sadly, quite high overall compared to places like Bacalar, Oaxaca, Queretaro, Merida, etc. Lots of corruption. You can see it all over KZbin and I’ve asked people who live there, Mexican and ex-pat, and it’s true. Even had friends who it happened to. This is especially true once you wander off of 5th Avenue area, but in resorts there is also a risk of theft and sometimes alcohol poisoning. And the beach that I went to at the end of this video now has machete-wielding bandits hiding in the woods and is completely unsafe, sadly. In GENERAL, playa del carmen probably IS safer than parts of certain US cities. But again, this is not a crime comparison video. This is a place for honesty and calm respectful dialogue, not outbursts or brain farts. I would still go back to Playa del Carmen, as it’s not as bad as, say Caracas. But I think it’s important to be aware and know the risks and rules. If for some reason you are so sensitive that you cannot emotionally tolerate any truth or opinion, then this is not the channel for you. But if you have opposing opinions and evidence to back them up, rather than just insults and outbursts, please join in the conversation. Best to you, sir!

Not sure what you mean. Video was filmed first week of February. Most edited KZbin videos are posted quite a bit after filming. Especially travel. :)
